I am sure as a coach, it is very difficult to appease everyone. You never will no matter what you do.
Aspyn is a dynamic offensive player. She has all of the tools to succeed, and can do it all. I for one enjoyed watching her at bats. She belongs in the batting order, but indeed does need to develop defensively. I like this kid, and she will lead the team in BA again next season.
Whatever her step-dad has done in his "politicking" really is no ones business. The kid`s talent will and has proven itself, and I believe she can be a D1 prospect. These allegations and attacks need to come to an end.
I will agree....this was the year to win it all. We are losing too many bats and don`t have it offensively. to keep up with Chesterton, Portage, Crown Pt, and Munster next season....unless, some of these girls can step it up. Based on what I saw this year, I believe that there can be up to 5 openings next season for position players.... lets see what happens, and hope that the best players get put in defensively and offensively.
This team should be going to semis this year. The team offensively this year was better than last years team, with almost the same crew. Its too bad this coach is still going through a learning curve....
That being said, Karberg is a good young pitcher but needs to work on offspeed pitches and breaking balls. The fastball only gets you so far. Should she have deserved to start this game? From my standpoint yes, but he needed to stick to what got him there in the first place, his seasoned pitching staff.
The failure to pull his freshman pitcher after the 3 run homer, spelled disaster after that point. Someone fell in love with the 64 mph fastball, which works great with inferior hitting. Line up a seasoned hitting club, and all of a sudden you have the recipe for disaster.
So where goes the blame? You be the judge, everyone has an opinion. I know what mine is.
