- Basic police work and crime reduction in a area starts with traffic stops more drugs and guns are removed from traffic stops or lead to big busts from traffic stops... i bet you would be screaming to high heck if someone you loved was killed from a drunk driver. You would be blaming the police they weren't out patrolling . who knows how many lives the potentially saved by stopping a speeder of drunk driver on those patrols.

- Go figure they just did a city wide sweep of Illinois plates in all neighborhoods and impounded and ticketed over 100 cars ... but I'm sure that's not good enough for you they cant do anything if that car is registered to a person who doesn't have any paper trail to living at a address in Indiana . You sure wouldn't like it if the police towed or ticketed a relatives car who came from out of town but that sure does sound like what you want done. If your so unhappy with Hammond move out quit complaining or be proactive and do something to help correct the issues. If your not part of the solution your part of the problem.

- This is sad the prosecution ,from what i have read and heard which may not all be accurate, doesnt have much physical evidence to prove this guy is guilty. The last few articles of testimonies seem to be that of convicted inmates who credibility is questionable at best and in my opinion any good defence attorney can pokes holes in and plant seeds of resonable doubt. It'll be sad if this guy walks and in fact is guilty. I feel bad for the family of this girl. They will never recive the closure they deserve. Even if this guy is convicted lets face it he will be out in 25 yrs and the girl is gone forever... Our legal system is broken!

- Here is a idea keep your stuff safe don't leave it unattended. If I knew my card ,debit or credit , was missing instantly I would have called my bank or acct holder and suspended it. Be responsible for your own stuff and these problems wont happen. Everyone is quick to blame someone else for their misfortunes. If it happened to you twice in four months obviously you are not watching over your belongings as you should. The only way to stop these types of crimes is for the average citizen to take responsibility for themselves because police cant be everywhere for everything....

- A traffic stop is key to finding and apprehending a lot of criminals in gangs and others. You can't just drive around and pick out gang members and arrest them for no reason. If they did that people like you would be screaming about profiling .Do you really think gang members follow the laws in cars if they dont any other time? this is a way to identify them and alot of times leads to way bigger things then just seat belt and speeding tickets . Finding and seizing of illegal drugs guns and so on.

- There is no reason to ban fireworks. There are many other things that kill people more than fireworks, which are lit off at most 4 times a year and bring enjoyment to most people. Except the Neighbors who probably hate most everything that make any kind of noise that people get any enjoyment out of....
