Though there is no annotation on your license, there is a HUGE difference in training from fire based EMS and privates. Fire based ems completes hundreds of training hours a month on both EMS and Fire based trainings. Allowing fire based ems to simultaneously mitigate and perform search, rescue and EMS tasks all at the same time. Proof is in the research. Not to mention as has been stated that Fire based ems statistically has much faster response times essentially stopping the life threat clock minutes faster due to their strategically located stations, apparatuses and staffing. There is not one bit of research I have found that states Private Ambulance Service is equal to or more beneficial when compared to fire based ems. Proof is in the pudding Private Ambulance Services are not trained, qualified or as prepared as Fire Based systems. And when thinking of whats best for the tax payer, its a no brainier...
