  1. Free Market: I would strongly suggest that you sober up completely before you start ranting next time. You sound a lot like Mrs. Reardon during her last radio interview... clueless. It's a shame you don't see that this about so much more than a special license plate and a title. The people of this district may want to elect someone who doesn't care about those things so much. Please stop acting like it's a crime to want something new. It's how the system works... nothing personal.

    Why do you always sound as if you think Fine is doing something weird or subversive? It's pretty straight-forward. He's running for office... no different than Reardon.

    I too, am tired of all the mail from both sides. But seriously? If you don't see the difference between bringing attention to the 2011 Walk Out (which is 100% fact) and accusing Republican candidates of supporting the rape of children and plotting to sell off our public schools (I've found absolutely nothing substantiate such a claim)... YOU ARE JUST PLAIN CRAZY! From what I've seen, Fine's position on education is pretty clear and doesn't even come close to what the Dems are throwing at him... and they're throwing a lot! I've checked all the references on a postcard I got this week and NOTHING pointed to the picture they're painting. That would make them liars.

    Those Indianapolis Democrats are spending a fortune on Reardon and O'Donnell. Add to that all the big bucks the Unions are throwing at them... WHO is bought and paid for? Yep... that would be Mara Reardon. Be careful throwing those stones from your glass house... you may not like what's exposed when someone throws them back at yours!

  4. Wow... aren't you just the LC Machine at its finest! You would dare criticize a man for responsibly supporting his family? Would you hold him in better esteem if he had chosen to abandon his young children for a political gig twenty years ago? Frankly, any sane person would agree that it's an honorable parent that puts their children first until they're grown. Then you mockingly call him "Grampa" as if that's something to be ashamed of...? Are you biased against all grandparents or just Mr. Fine?
    What's shameful is that the Times would endorse a law school dropout just to pander to the Lake County political Machine. It's equally pathetic that people like you, Free Market (or do you prefer Mr. Candelaria?), would attack a man and his children with your unfounded speculations simply because your wife doesn't have a record to defend. I guess, if she had a leg to stand on, you wouldn't be so desperate, would you?

  5. I am stunned that no one in the media has caught on to Mrs. Reardon's game. She continually takes credit for Rep. Soliday's work on the Little Calumet bill, when everyone who was involved knows she did nothing more than attach her name to it. Surely the Times and WJOB are well aware of this... why do they allow her to spew this garbage without questioning her about it? What exactly was her great bi-partisan contribution? Same goes for her reelection campaign. Every time Mr. Fine offers his solution to an issue, she instantly contradicts herself and parrots Fine's ideas as if they were her own. I really hope the voters here are paying attention, since the local news outlets seem content to let her slide. It's great that she agrees with Fine, because I think he's on the right track. Unfortunately, Reardon has no idea what she's talking about, which means she'll never be able to accomplish anything if she gets another term. She's had three terms already and has nothing to show for it other than attaching her name to Soliday's work. Frankly, Rep. Soliday has his own district to worry about... isn't it time our district elect someone who will represent us? Come on people! Three terms... three strikes... let's vote her out!

  6. With all due respect, wasn't it Reardon who ran away last year when the Little Calumet legislation should have been passed? Was it not because of her failure to show up for work that this funding was delayed for over a year? Reardon has never saved anyone from anything, except herself. She choose unions over the voters and that's a fact. The people of this district aren't stupid. Anything good that's come out of the legislature in the past 6 years is in spite of her, not because of her. She just needs to go. I'd vote for Mickey Mouse before I'd ever vote for her again.

  7. I can't believe that a sitting member of the House of Representatives is so uninformed about issues in her own district! She doesn't have a clue! Maybe if she devoted as much time reading as she does covering herself in cheap jewelry and tight clothes, she might know half as much as Mr. Fine. Thank you, Mr. Fine, for caring enough to stand up and do the work. If your editorials are any indication of how you operate, you've got my vote. It's refreshing to find a candidate who doesn't just understand the problem, but offers reasonable solutions as well.

  8. PLEASE... WAKE UP, LAKE COUNTY! This makes over 50 DEMOCRAT elected officials to be convicted of cheating and stealing from YOU! The Lake County Democrat Central Committee is corrupt to its very core and has been for over 40 years! It doesn't have to be like this! Voters need to speak up and throw out the lot of them. Republicans and Democrats need to unite and collapse this corrupt organization to protect ourselves. Maybe then, we can restore an honorable 2-party system to Lake County. THEY WON'T STOP STEALING FROM YOU UNTIL YOU STOP VOTING FOR THEM!!!

  9. A great advocate? Really? How does putting a list on the state website accomplish anything? Is this lady saying anyone who does business with anyone in Iran is a terrorist? This sounds like she's an advocate for McCarthyism. The Department of Homeland Security already knows who's doing business with the Iranian Government. The Government is the threat. Not the Iranian people. This lady would have us believe anyone who sells an Iranian man a hammer is a terrorist, and she'll put him on her list. Isn't that exactly what McCarthy did with Communism? Putting people or companies on a list of subversives with no regard to real evidence is nothing more than a witch hunt.
