- Just wait until two more unnecessary shopping centers get built at Main and Indianapolis. The people trying to escape Illinois are used to traffic congestion. Porter county is looking more attractive every day.

- Four lanes west of Calumet on Main st.sounds good for those who want to head north and south on Calumet but won't it also dump a lot of traffic on main street between Main st and Indianapolis? I wonder how it will impact residents along that strech of road. Ther are some very nice subdivisions along there.

- Other very conservative Republican Govenors across the US recognize the importance of this program and have signed on. Pence is simply a dumb a?? who will stand on principle no matter the consequences to the underpriviledged. Pence, you have no political future so STOP IT NOW!

- We knew what would happen if Pence was elected so no one should be surprised by his actions. We are just going to have to wait four more years to do something about it. Union members, the middle class, women and especially the poor will be under seige by this wingnut whose beliefs align with Murdoch and Akin. Fortunatley the American people kept them out of the Senate. Ubfortunately, Hoosier voters did not do the same (almost but not quite) when it came to Pence. The only thing we don't know it just how bad it will get.

- Let us not forget that wingnuts like Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck and Sarah Palin get paid to stir up the electorate by increasing ratings on the various networks that hire them. That is free enterprise. Our elected officials are not being paid to do the same thing. They are being paid by taxpayers to provide productive work by passing laws that actually do something to help people. A suggestion might be that since we have a grading system for schools we set one up for the legislators. We as voters can then can better understand who is working and who isn't and get rid of the failures.

- The old customers who had the money are dying of alcoholism and smoking related illnesses. A new crowd can't be created because we are looking for healthier food at lower prices. Plus the demographics are changing too. It is a combination of many factors. We are seeing the same story over and over again. To blame it on a smoking ban is too simplistic. It is combination of may factors including the economy. How many of those customers were real estate agents, bankers and contractors? A new day has dawned but the financially strong, and healthy I might ad, will survive.

- This is strictly a business strategy based on the either you grow or die philosophy. Strack's is committed to growth in the supermarket space and the Weiss' would rather grow subdivisions. (At least they are not stuffing their money into the Caman islands.) Plenty of places to shop. Build a bigger home with a new freezer and go to Sam's club or go to Aldi's and get the best pricing on produce basics. Town and Country also has a sushi bar to boot. I do agree with one commenter who said the avacado's were soft and mushy at Wiseway but not usually at Aldi's. Oh, and then there there's the Valpo. farmer's market on Tuesday"s during warm weather. I will miss Wiseway because I have been going there for so many years but I would rather have Strack's than a boarded up building.
