  1. You forget, Community doesn't like Medicaid now, and isn't real fond of Medicare without supplemental insurance. You really don't think they are basing this on Obamacare do you? Unless you have $$$$ guess you're just out of luck.

  2. Also for Ms. Darnell who talks about your beautiful facility in Chesterton. Open your eyes! Yes it's pretty, but it is missing something critical for a hospital, PATIENT BEDS!!!!!!! If you are taken there, and you have to stay in the hospital, they will put you in another ambulance and drive you to Michigan City. How is that good for anyone? Chesterton is a very pretty, very expensive band-aid station.

  3. If Public Ambulance Services make so much money, how come East Chicago gave up their service and East Chicago has 10 times the firemen that Chesterton has. If you buy 1 ambulance, who will cover your second, or third call? If there is an accident on 49 and you need 3 ambulances, who will come, Portage or do you expect Porter Hospital to keep an ambulance in Chesterton?
    Is Porter giving you bad service that needs replaced? With fuel costs rising, how can you do this for nothing? Your Police Department and Street Department will get no raises so you can duplicate a service you already get? This is disgraceful. The other employees in Chesterton deserve better. And so do the taxpayers in Chesterton.

  5. I would like to congratulate the Hobart Ordinance Board, especially City Attorney Anthony DeBonis for an intelligent and appropriate response for vicious animals. Breed Specific Ordinances are a failure across the country, and imposing severe fines against irresponsible owners is a great start for curbing the program.

    I feel truly bad for Sherryl Doerr for what her daughter had to endure, but just because one animal is bad, don't punish mine and all other Pitty Baby owners. That is no different than racial profiling. I would strongly suggest she reach out to some of the Pit Bull Rescues in the area and let her daughter see what the breed is really like. The CPR Fund from Crown Point is an excellent rescue, and I'm sure if you contact them, they would be glad to set up a time for her daughter to meet and fall in love with some of the most caring animals ever.

    To the remainder Councilmen, job well done gentlemen and thank you from a responsible Pit owner.

  6. Just have Obama print more money! It's only paper, I mean what can a dollar bill cost to print? Obama is too busy promising everything to poor people,and unions trying to get reelected. Now, he wants all the illegal aliens, oh I'm sorry, you can't call them that so lets just call them undocumented Democrats to be able to vote without identification cards because it would make them feel unwanted... To Eric 1969, I'm so glad that you want to pay more taxes, what a nice guy you are. Homeowners and hard workers are tired paying the bill for the infinitely lazy. SAY NO TO NEW TAXES!
