  1. Fatandsassy, seriously? I don't care if she had sex with 10 different boys. She was in counseling with her PASTOR and PRINCIPAL and HE took advantage of the situation. 16 year-olds don't have adult discernment - but 50+ year old pastors SHOULD.

  2. Additionally, if I remember correctly, the victim finally consented to speak to the prosecutors just recently. I seem to recall that she was not initially cooperating in the investigation against Schaap, however, that seems to have changed. So, the prosecutors are asking for a delay in order for the victim to be able to make a victim impact statement.

If I were Schaap and his attorneys right now, I'd be pushing for the original sentencing date, too. God knows they certainly don't want the victim herself speaking out just before the sentence is handed down - that can't ever turn out well for the accused.

  3. Part of this plea deal was to throw out all the nekkid/porno pics of her/them - under 18, that's a federal crime. So, it's not just a technicality - it's a plea deal.

  4. I apologize for the lack of paragraphs in my comment below. I included them in my text, however, they did not show up once I hit submit.

  5. For "Common Sense" who keeps stating that the age of consent in Schaap's state is 16, that is 100% correct. However, there are other circumstances which complicate the situation. First, there is a law which states that as her Pastor/Counselor/Principal, he cannot engage in sexual behavior with her. Secondly, he took her across state lines which then makes it a Federal crime - and the Federal age of consent is 18. Thirdly, there are sexual pictures of them - which were on his phone's account - and it is a Federal crime to send/keep pornographic photos of someone under the age of 18. Even though he got a deal whereby he wouldn't be charged for the photos, the judge is still aware of them. So, his minimum of 10 years is appropriate when all the charges are considered.

And while I understand Cindy's love for her husband (okay, no, I really don't understand it, but whatever), she is a fool. Does she really believe that having prostate problems caused him to have sex with a teenage girl? He knew what he was doing, and even if the girl knew what she was doing, having sex with someone who is beneath you emotionally and spiritually is a sick situation.

This church has covered up so much sexual wrong-doing while worshiping their pastors and youth pastors, it's about time the book of the law was thrown at them. Dave Hyles, anyone? The whole place needs to be wiped clean and started over. I heard they called John Wilkerson to be the candidate as new pastor. If he had one ounce of integrity (and I believe he does), his first action would be to fire every single man sitting on that platform for their wholesale acceptance of Schaap's perversion. Even if they disagreed with the PERVERSION Schaap was teaching (taking communion/Lord's Supper is having intercourse with Jesus, and reading the Bible is you being penetrated sexually by Jesus), they didn't make their stand known by getting up and walking out. So, get rid of them. Get rid of ALL the staff that stayed and listened and agreed. Heck, get rid of the church members who didn't use the brain God gave them and let their children hear the multiple x-rated sermons Schaap preached. Sure, they won't go to the movies because that would be a sin, but they'll let their pastor preach about specific body parts and intercourse and penetration and show masturbation and talk about having seen naked pictures of most of the teenagers (????????!!!!!) in the youth group, and hey, that's just fine and dandy.

Throw the book at this guy - and that church. Sick bunch of perverts.
