  1. Why is this Dyer's problem? All of the runoff in Plum Creek is from Illinois until it crosses the state line and then turns into Hart Ditch. On top of that, PC crosses from Will County into the Cook County Forest preserve before crossing the state line. It's a regulatory mess. Also, wouldnt it be a better idea to store Dyer's water at the downstream end of town instead of upstream before it even enters town?

  2. The facility was not built in 1985. The 130th treatment plant has been there since at least the 1930's. Capacity may have been added in 1985 to treat deep tunnel water. 2000 construction jobs is unlikely, but 8000 permanent jobs is completely unrealistic. They are not adding plants just updating them. It is more likely that permanent jobs will be reduced. But lets believe Quinn for a minute. 8000 $60k/year jobs equals $480,000,000 PER YEAR! So is MWRD going to increase their tax levy in response to this FREE State money?? Yeah right nice try.

  3. "SEH, of Munster" the article says. www.sehinc.com shows the corporate office in St. Paul MN. The "Munster" office is just politician Matt Reardon playing engineer. Mark Downey, the president of Commonwealth Engineers, a company with headquarters in Indiana, was awarded the consulting engineer of the year award. Whats going on here?

  5. They complained and now they have nothing. The article says nothing about who's going to pay for this "energy park." I'm sure they also want the government to fund it. If they want an "energy park" then they need to find some capital and build it themselves.

  6. I guess you have to scroll to the bottom to get the real news.

"The new non-attainment designation will allow Illinois to receive up to $100 million in federal funds to reduce traffic congestion."

    How convenient.
