- The very fact that so many of you feel this discussion was a superfluous, only further proves how far the issue can reach. One user said it was a behavior that was learned, and therefore you can blame them. Yes, racism and hate are learned behaviors, that doesn't make that behavior justified, nor should it be tolerated or encouraged, it needs to be unlearned and the patterns need to be broken. The panel is aimed at targeting a serious issue, (and there are numerous accounts of race-related incidents, regardless of what any ignorant bigot would like to believe) the goal was not to target individuals, but to draw light upon the very real behavior and those that participate. The purpose of diversity is not to solve crime, or give birth to unicorns, it is to create tolerance, awareness and above all acceptance, because those things create change, bring about hope, and abolish those learned behaviors that are so existential in the comment page of this article.
