As a former resident of Northwest Indiana, all I will say is that Chicago is no more or less corrupt than so many cities throughout the country, including your home town. What goes on in Chicago just gets publicized a heck of a lot more. Also, there are plenty of Indiana towns and cities throughout the United States with a murder rate greater than Chicago's. Chicago doesn't even rate in the top 10. Look it up.
