- I see folks in Gary are still talking mean to each other. The city council meetings were a disgrace. Who in their right mind would want to video tape it and keep it for posterity makes no sense. Gary has many organic problems and then the city is hated by outsiders. I used to listen to the talk radio shows in the mornings. I had my clock radio set to come on as the radio station was coming on. I could not sleep listening to that noise. I thank you I was never late in over twenty years.

- Back when Gary had about 8 high schools all 8 of the high school bands used to meet at Buffington Park to either begin our parades down Broadway or to end our parades from up Broadway. Carl Malden who's name was really Mladin Sekulavich the actor lived with his family of siblings and his parents in a two story apartment building across the street from the park. Maybe it was Rhode Island St. It is the street that borders the park on the East side. That was an area that a lot of Catholics lived. There used to be a monument of military who died during WW2 that had the names of many service members from Gary on it. I do not remember anything else being in that park except trees. No playground equipment, no baseball field, no pool and no tennis court, no anything except a nice clean area to rest and have a picnic. This would have been the mid 1960's through to the late 1960's when I was a youngster in town.

- Heroin is a dangerous narcotic that kills. It is not "weed" or some natural product that grows like hemp. It is processed and designed to hook people and eventually kill them. I lost many friends and associates over the years to it. One period they were mixing it with Fintenal (sp) I am not sure how to spell it but this is how it sounds. That stuff comes out of cancer patient patches. It was killing people instantly. One of my favorite musician recording artists life was taken away too early from messing around with it. It is nothing to experiment with. It is like playing with fire. When you play with fire you get burned. Congratulations to the police for a job well done. Dealers, Suppliers or anyone connected in that mess need to be taken away from society.

- What goes around, comes around. Laws and decisions trend like everything else. As Homeland Security invades the privacy of more Americans and we all become more subject to observations from "big brother" it behooves us to be extremely careful about what we say and do. Nothing is private anymore. These girls will be made examples of by the board that will now be watched even more than before. These are unusual times. The board members will need to watch their backs as well.Indeed we are all living in glass houses now. It will only trend to be more like this in the future.
