  1. Let the Dems get settled? Every single one of them at the county level has done this for awhile. If they were corrupt we'd already be getting wind of it. Kind of like we've seen Nancy A take free plane rides and make mistakes about whether or not she's taken bids for big projects. Kind of like hearing that one of Heinold's biggest donors is Porter County's health care provider. Kind of like Hoffman and the jumbotron. I could go on. I don't see too many freeloaders or corrupt Dems in Porter County. The local Rs just proved the biggest knock against them and their party, they are out of touch and they don't think too much of the intelligence of the people they are supposed to represent.

    And Porter County is suddenly trending D? What about two years ago? It was a Republican sweep that brought us an auditor who needs hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of consultants including the auditor the Dems forced out, Nancy Adams (enough said), Biggs&Polarek (don't even get me started) It's sure hard to figure why the people picked D here this year. lol lol lol

  2. Couple a key differences here;

    1/The run-in with the law was front page news. It's true and pertinent. The GOP mailers were misleading at best, bold faced lies at worst.

    2/She signed her name to it.

    And this may not really be relevant, but had the roles been reversed Ms. Blaney's mugshot would have been all over Porter County in every form of media imaginable within 24 hours.
    Keep up the good work Ms. Blaney. I applaud you for the way you handled this.

  3. I agree, VOT. This was done in a public meeting and I don't see any accusations of falsehoods in the letter. Shouldn't the four who held the press conference own their vote? I'm sure they are promoting anything they can think of they've done to make themselves look good. Maybe they just can't think of anything. Why is Sylvia Graham so upset about a factual letter about things that happened in a public meeting when the Republicans are sending out lie after lie to many more people in the county than there are county employees? That's the thing that should make her emotional. Seems like someone has redirected her brain for their own purposes. Those R's are pretty impressive. Send out over the top lies about the democrats and then get one of the democrats to hold a press conference condemning the other democrats for pointing out things that happened in a public meeting. The Rs have gone out of their way to help the Ds with their rape comments, arrests and far right wing craziness. Instead of capitalizing, the democrats have a member trying to take out her fellow dems. The political theater this year has been quite a show. Fascinating.

  5. Broken promises, mailers full of blatant lies, and now this. The local GOP is the definition of arrogance. Franklin House is the local GOP hangout. They were probably whooping it up over their BS mailers. They obliterated the Valpo Schools and had the nerve to blame it on the Dems. Unreal and obscene. There really aren't enough words.

    Yes, vote for Laura Blaney. She has the character for this job. But also vote for Dan Whitten, Bob Poparad, and Sylvia Graham. The lies came from all the local GOP candidates.

    This party makes me sick. I hope healthy access is crying in their cornflakes this morning. Better raise gas prices a few cents, Gus.

    I hope Blaney remembers your contributions.
