  3. The LC Referendum is actually costing tge LC taxpayers $260 million. It is $158 million for the construction and $102 million for the interest. Visit EMMA through the MSRB website and search Lake Central for a prospectus. Page 4 of the prospectus outlines the costs for the taxpayers. In 2009 LC proposd a new football stadium, a new bus barn and some minor additions to the existing building. This referendum failed because it didn't focus on education. Search the internet and you will find a master plan developed in 2008 that verifies the plans for the 2009 referendum. LC hired DeYoung Associates of Ohio in 2010. DeYoung did a study and found that taxpayers would support a new building. A second high school was preferred but their research showed taxpayers would still support a new building at the current site. Search DeYoung Associates website for supporting documentation. Lake Central then proposed only a new building with no changes to the building. We have several copies of the video but if you want to see the videi for yourself go to Youtube and Search Vote Yes for LC. Do it quickly as I suppose LC will have jacklinkproductions pull it soon. You can clearly see only a builing was sought during public presentations. To see what is actually being planned for the site search lcroomconcepts.blogspot.com. Schmidt Associates, the architects, have several photos showing the new football and baseball stadiums and additional parking lots to support the higher volume of ticket sales. Schmidt Associates began working on these elements of construction immediately following the referendums passing. So don't let the administration say its because the bids came in under expectations. Besides to do more than what was approved with the referendum money is illegal. If the bids were under it should be a savings to the taxpayers. If you review all of these documents you will see LC is getting exactly what they wanted in the 2009 referendum per the 2008 master plan. The whole intent of the new building was to sneak these items in. If you read the comments on the youtube site, you will see a posting by jacklinkproductions made in October 2011 stating there will be a football stadium. This was before the November vote and illustrates a premediated deception of the taxpayers. Another good source to find more information is the former superintendent Dr. Gerald Chabot. He is a little hard to contact but he can be reached.

  4. The project is shaping up nicely and it is good for everyone that it comes in under budget. All BS aside it is a good thing for St John to get the grant for an officer to be in the school. Despite what others have said it is worth every penny for protection and mentoring of the students. And that is not just an opinion, hot air or an ignorant remark. Would you agree Regionite23?

  5. Maybe your the ignorant one I even told you to go to the DLGF website and review the October 7 letter. You can also go to EMMA through the MSRB website and review page 4 of the prospectus. We don't care if the building gets built. We are just looking for prosecution if warrented and we'll leave that up to the government.

  7. Does a resident who lives in White Hawk West pay taxes to LC or Crown Point. That is a Crown Point address but LC school district. I am just wondering if someone who pushed so hard for the additional taxes would even share in the cost.

  8. I would think Veracco could take a paycut after thieving $260 million from taxpayers. In 2009 LC didn't even want a new building. They were only seeking some minor additions, additional parking lots and a new football stadium. After that referendum failed because taxpayers did n't want to pay for those items. Unicom Arc did a study to find that out. They concocted needing only a new building for 2011. After the referendum passed they put back in the things taxpayers did not want to pay for in 2009. Veracco also told taxpayers it would only cost 160 million when in actuality it is 260 million. And if you don't think LC knew it would cost that much. Go to the Department of Local Government Finance website. Rob aJames submitted the paperwork stating it would cost as much. This paperwork was submitted October 7, before the vote. Have no fear the information and more is with the proper authorities.

  10. I was making the math simple for you and you honostly think that athletes aren't drawn to other schools solely based on athletics in NW indiana? Well again like I said vote yes for yourself. It is no sweat to me. There just has to be one person that votes no to cancel out you.
