Your basis for his innocence is this, all the witnesses lied, the Porter County Police are all corrupt, your experts contradicted the prosecutions experts so that makes them right and there was no DNA or dog hair on her body.
Now here is the basis for his guilt, he was the last one to see her alive, he lied about phone calls, his statements and actions while alone do not prove guilt they begin to build a case, The lack of DNA and dog hair is a red flag considering she was there by his admission, her own car was clean of any trace of her again red flag. The police did in fact look into other suspects but they ALL had alibis that were verified, there was no need for their DNA and fingerprints to be checked. The eye witness wgo saw him walking and a big one , the neighbors who both heard things during the time he has admitted she was at his house. How about the fact that he did NOT take the stand and even try to answer for his actions or profess his innocence? If you knew you were bring wrongly accused of murder wouldn't you be screaming from the rooftops I'm NOT guilty?
First question the defense can't answer: Dustin says Amanda was with him from 10:30-1:30, neighbor 1 hears voices around 1am neighbor 2 hears gunshots between 12:30 and 1. He has already admitted she was at his house at this time if he didn't do this then who did? Dad's gun is missing, he was jealous of her relationship with his friend Brandon, he thought she was pregnant, he was verbally abusive to her during their relationship. Car is found with seat pushed back and a staged flat tire. Man 100% identifies him as walking down the street from the direction of the car back to his house. At which time he says he is at home. The science may not be exact but it does tell a story of movement on his part to and from the location. He is texting 2 other girls random garbage to establish an alibi. He tells police he was worried that Amanda didn't text him when she got home and he called her "lots of times" when in reality he called 2X within a minute of each other after the police questioned him. He is posting on his FB how worried he is she is missing telling people to contact him or Allie, he is upset enough to throw up when at a friends house but yet his first question to Amanda's father is "Did they find fingerprints?" and he is not upset enough to cancel a trip to IU even after Jordan (the driver) told him she didn't think they should go. He is partying in Amanda"s honor before they even know she is dead. He is texting the school counselor to determine where they are searching for her at and making up a story that his dad said about another missing person. His father isn't worried enough about Amanda to even stay up and help his concerns are 1. Did they take the car for processing, 2. Make sure and retain an attorney but go ahead and let Dustin go to IU 3. Deny search request fron PCPD. And then go to bed for the day. But wait let's drive by Dean's to check out the tire when according to Dustin he and Allie had already went by there earlier and the car was gone. So what was that trip for? You can add the inmates testomony to this and take it or leave it depending on if they were believable or not. Even without this information who else could have possibly commited this crime?
Chief Deputy Prosecutor Matt Frost questioned Harmon about a Feb. 13 conviction on three counts of false informing during February and March 2013 in a sexual battery case and about why he left the police force.
Harmon repeated that he retired and later uttered an epithet at Frost when leaving the courtroom.
For the defense witnesses, a friend of McCowan’s, who’d allegedly said she was glad Bach was dead, testified that she and McCowan had been involved physically and that she felt he was unjustly prosecuted.
Shelby Reilly admitted she was jealous “maybe a little” of Bach and wore a bright orange zip-up sweatshirt
