- Please tell us Jerry how do you plan on balancing the budget. Borrow another 15 mill and leave it for our children to pay off. You will be long gone by the time we have to pay that off. Instead of telling us what you don't want tell us what you plan on doing instead. No one wants an income tax but you haven't been willing to make the necessary cuts so far so just what is your answer.

- sorry I left out jail also but again they can go to Uncle Louie's house for the other 4 days a week. Public safety and the courts make up by far the largest portion of the county budget. Can more cuts be made in some cases yes and should but we no longer can cut our way out of this mess.

- This is brilliant thinking Uncle Louie so when you have to go to county for anything like paying your taxes or going to the board of health instead of waiting an hour you wait 2 hours no big deal. And our streets and decaying bridges fix them up next year or wait until one collapses again if your not on it when it collapse who really cares. Now getting our criminals to only commit crimes three days a week shouldn't be to much of a problem and closing the., juvenile center, and work release centers four days shouldn't be a problem just let everyone go home with the promise that they have to come back or maybe send them all to stay with you that would work. But of course since we would cut our courts by 40% their would be less criminals prosecuted and more out on the streets. Yes you are truly a man of vision just like Mr. Magoo

- So for room and board it cost around $300 a month to be in work release and you think that is a rip off. I wish it only cost me that much for my bills to paid that's not even my NIPSCO bill. I guess you think the staff that is working there are donating their time and NIPSCO heats the place free of charge or maybe their is no upkeep of the building. Trust me they should be paying a lot more then that. Oh and guess what they messed up and committed crimes so don't feel sorry for them but from your statement it sound like you must have done some time there.

- What a waste of taxpayers money. If there are say 100000 bars in this state I would say at least 95000 of them ran football boards of some type. I have never ran across one yet that took a cut from the board if $100 was taken in all was paid out. Unlike casino's that we all know make a profit or they wouldn't be in business. The difference is tax dollar's to this greedy state. The bars only profit come from the patron's who come in drink and eat and put a few dollars down to win some money. I would think we could use our excise police a little better then this. They should be making sure underage drinkers are not being served .

- I bet the casino's would love your logic. yes tax them five hundred dollars for each table or slot machine a year. Majestic would pay $1,004,000 for the year instead of the $19,440,290 they paid in just admission and wagering taxes last year or how about Ameristar they would pay $986,000 for the year instead of $32,370,583. Maybe Horseshoe would balk about paying that $1,606,500 instead of $78,304,302 for the year. The truth is casino's pay more in taxes then any other business in the state right around 50%. Yep that would really get her done.
