- Mr. Smith (whom we all called QP) was the principal at West Side High School in Gary when i attended!!! He was a stern but yet fair and understanding man!!!! He demanded respect and gave respect in return!!! If not for his leadership in our lives as students a lot of us may not be where we are today!!!! if the kids now a days had a man as such as QP leading the education facility they attend, they would be much better off!!! He would not allow boys wearing hats in the building or sagging pants!!! he would not allow the girls carry themselves in any other manner than the manner of being a young lady!!!! we had security but it was not needed!!! QP was security with just his presence alone!!!! he had a way to make you fear him but yet turn to him if needed!!! I have many good memories!!! RIP "QP"!!!!

- why are we questioning what the victim was doing out this time of night? maybe she was on her way to work, on her way home from work or maybe even on her way to take care of a relative or friend in need!!!!!!!!! she is the victim of this senseless accident!!!! she was the mother of 3 minor children!!!! everyoe does not have a schedule that allows them to be in the house all locked up at 8pm!!!! i pray this never happens to anyone in your family!!!! i am sure you too have loved ones that are out this time of night for some reason or another!!!! get off your high horses and better than thou mental state and have some compassion for others!!! wonder how you would feel if you lost a loved one like this and this type of question is asked about your loved one!!!!
