Griffibilly

  1. This letter about sums it up.

I read that the clowns that were in charge had abiout 60 or 70 combined years of experience on the griffith police department. Not a good legacy to leave their name on. But hey, they kept their jobs and cashed their paychecks while the rest of the town suffered do to their incompetence and selfishness.

    Good riddance!!!!

  2. The police had regular Mansards patrols in the past, but that was a number of years ago, Moore said.

A number a years ago since Griffith patroled the Mansatds????? No wonder the place turned into a cesspool. I hope they aren't closing the barn door too late!!!! Better late than never I guess.

  3. The people running the town and those in charge of running their police department should be fired and not demoted for making excuses while the towm went to he**

    Shame on YOU ALL!!!!!!

Griifth is still salvageable. Firing ithose in the police department that allowwed the problems to fester is a wonderful thing, I say take those bozos all the way down and get them off the police force entirely so the cancer cannot survive.

  4. I think I will copy your post and send it to each member of the safety board and town council. I read the scenerio as the board was trying to get this done so the administration could stay on the police force with lower ranks.

With all the vile being spewd, I hope the so called "right wing nuts" conduct a full investigation so the full truth comes out. I am guessing any findings of gross misconduct would result in termination, loss of pensions, or even something worse.

This won't be good for anyone. From looking at all the posts, it sure appears that something rotten was going on inside the police dept.

  5. Cardriver,
I saw this comment in the article about the protest from people trying to get the jobs back for the Chief and his second in command. It refers to an article published in the PUC Chronicle in 2008 and addresses the problems at the Mansards.....................

    From the publication:
After the recent homicide, many [Internet bloggers] have attributed the Mansards recent crime woes to the Housing Choice Voucher Program, a housing subsidy program Mansards owners began accepting several years ago.

Corporal Hector Arroyo of the Griffith Police Department said he isn't quick to label the Mansards as a danger zone.

"Is crime excessive there? Not really for that kind of population," Arroyo said.

"We don't look at these statistics as particularly alarming, like 'holy cow, we've really got to look at this,'" Arroyo said.

It seems quite obvious the administration has denied any wrong doing at the Mansards for years. Either they were stupid or had another agenda. This article talks about investigations. I think someone should investigate if anybody in the administration HAD ANY FINANICAL GAIN derived from the Mansards prior to 2008 until today.

Maybe that is the root of the whole problem?

  6. The chief and his second in command got demoted. It happens all the time. I don't see what the bid deal is all about. Man up and go on with your lives.

  7. In reading some of the posts and taking into account that the Griffith officials were very tight lipped when giving their reason for demotion, I think you have offered the best advice to the former police chief and his 2nd in command Gulley.

The voters "chose another direction" in the last election and threw Gulley off the town council. He is no longer able to provide protection from the top. And, like you said, sometimes its best to "let sleeping dogs lie"

  8. The Lake County Council is expected to discuss the proposed loan early next month. The money is needed to meet anticipated spending on the Lake County Jail, roads and drainage, waterways and other services.

The crooks and inept politicians in Lake County are salivating over the big dollars that they know they will never pay back. Give us all the free monoply money we canl take. Sorry when Lake County defaults on the loan :)

  9. Between the mansards and the Township, Griffith is fighting for its life. Their town leaders have done a great job fighting the crooks from Gary Township. They better do a better job with their police department in fighting the mansards infestation otherwise everything will be a mute point.

I understand the township issues are a state issue. However, if the Griffith cops cannot control the crime from the mansards, some people (including the chief of police) need to be fired for their inaction. The town leaders can control this part.and everyday I read about another crime I become more angry about the silence. Thank you for forgeting about us!!!!!!!! Many of us will remember this at the next election!!!!!!!

Sorry about digressing from the article but I am writing this in hope that the Griffith town officials notice how the police department has completely failed the town.
