wrong Relaxppl!!! You are flat out wrong if you think this will do anything to lower our property taxes. This is just another tax, period! I predict a mass exodus out of Lake County and straight into Porter County...Yes, Porter County has a small income tax, lower property taxes and in much better financial shape than Lake.

Notice the words....highest amount? Folks, I tell you what. I have read some on the council will push for a tax as high as 3%. Doubtful it would do anything much in the way of property tax relief either, I really don't. In effect, it will cost me about $6,300 to live in Lake County? There was recently an article in the paper about population decline in Lake County. If this passes, you will see a mass exodus out of Lake County.

I am outraged by this! I'd be curious to see if these girls do indeed return to Griffith School system. This issue needs to be discussed at the next Griffith Safety Board Meeting!

This county will be looking at a mass exodus of residents if they try and pull this off. Nobody in their right mind is going to pay a whopping 3% of their income on top of already high property taxes for many of us. Might be worth it if Lake County was nice, clean, decent roads, etc.
