- I wish the days of "check and advise" were long gone. I hear it over Griffith radio traffic too often. I don't want anyone to misunderstand me - I respect all emergency personnel - police, fire, ems. I simply do not understand why they (Town of Griffith) risk a life by having an officer check - only to have that officer confirm, then tone out fire. I know Avenger said that no longer happens - but I still hear it happen. Anyone have information? Was this suppose to stop - but still occurs on accident (someone use to the old way of doing things)?

- First and foremost - my condolences to the family. Before anyone gets upset and feels as though I am attacking the life of the lost - I am not. Has anyone else noticed that Griffith will dispatch an officer to "check and advise" instead of error on the side of caution and dispatch the fire department from the beginning. I would like to know - did an officer check and advise on this fire before the first tone went out for fire to respond. I am not attacking officers nor am I attacking fire fighters - simply the system in Griffith that I do not agree with. Any thoughts?
