Good to hear from you.
I was just minding my own business, writing my usual monthly letter, when suddenly I was attacked by a bunch of vicious lefties on this-here blog. Actually, I rarely read the comments on my letters, but I noticed the high number of responses to this one, so I decided to check 'em out.
And was I shocked.... WOW! These progressive, who preach tolerance and understanding, are anything BUT! So I responded in-kind. We all have to do it sometime.
Anyway, I noticed a much kinder, gentler tone to your last Times letter, whenever it was. No more referring to me as one of "the Three Stooges of Whiting". So maybe I'll follow your advice and just stay away from this blog; it can be damaging to one's spirit.
I was just thinking about BNI's 1966 "Music Man" the other day; man, what memories!
The world seemed so much simpler and happier back then.
FYI-- The progressive Left's FEAR (and thus their obsessive need to attempt to destroy) of Rubio comes directly from none other than Obama's Marxist pal (and former "Green Czar") Van Jones, who told his on-air CNN colleagues HOW RELIEVED HE WAS that Rubio grabbed that water bottle----since it distracted the viewers from Rubio's message, which he regards as "dangerous".
So you can thank your Marxist guru V.Jones for promoting the Leftist's FEAR concept....I'm only reporting what the Marxist said on air.
Have a nice, spew-filled day!
This dude's response to my letter of Dec 4th verges on the incoherent. What do Bush and Cheney's relationship with the GOP have to do with any of this? Exit polls showed that 53% of voters (and, apparently, the writer of this letter), are still obsessed with "W" and blame him for Obama's failed economy.
The original letter continued: "An irrational hatred of George Bush and a cultish devotion to Obama....", combined to re-elect Big O. Of course there were problems with Romney the candidate and his campaign, but the 53% of voters who still blame Bush were a very significant element in Obama's re-election---and that's exactly why he, his administration, and the leftists hacks in the media continued to hammer away by blaming Bush for the listless economy--- and it worked! Obama can now continue to overload the welfare and food stamp system and all he and his weasely apologists have to do is continue to say: "Well, if Bush didn't crash the economy, we wouldn't have so many needy people."
Obama now owns the economy---or are youse' guys still going to insist it's all Bush's fault? And for how long? Problem is that Big O. will ALWAYS find a scapegoat; he's already got the GOP House set up as the culprits for his coming destruction of the economy, and his pals in the media have probably got their columns to that effect already written.
Obama will never, EVER take real responsibility or admit any failure in his policies; demagogues never do.
1.) Carole-- why bring Mammy into this argument? Perhaps you can elucidate.
2.) Carole--- the film has nothing to do with the GOP; they'd never be smart enough
to produce it. FYI: the author/narrator is a "person of color" from a third-world country, and the producer is a big-time Hollywood guy who works with the ultra-liberal Spielberg. So the film MIGHT NOT be as partisan as you think.
3.) J Bird - yeah, we have our free speech---for the present, at least. Obama's already trashing the right to religious expression. Just ask any Catholic who pays attention. If he's re-elected, he'll get around to freedom of speech.
4.) Misty-- funny that you claim Romney depends on his advisors, when your guy B.O. can't make a move without spending a couple of days with his spin-doctors, consultants, and PR guys. That's why his "World Leadership" has been so pathetic. Until now, all eyes of the world would turn to America for morale leadership and strength---but B.O. waits 'til France, Germany and England have weighed in, then creeps up to the podium and tries to seduce you with his pumped-up rhetoric. That's how he handled the failed "Green Revolution" in Iran in 2009 (which might have overthrown Iran's insane leader had Obama supported the protesters), Libya in 2011, Egypt...you name it. He's cunning, vicious, and opportunistic and is determined to destroy the founding principles and traditions of our nation.
5.) Randy B -- Why don't you try to let go and forget about Bush/Cheney?
6.) BobSr-- We're still waiting for B.O. to release his college applications and records, passport and selective service info. Aren't you the least bit curious about what our great leader and teacher is hiding?
As you continue to study and pursue your life's ambitions, you will undoubtedly encounter many more vicious, moronic leftists like Vuckelic, who is so low-class and crude that he attacks and humiliates a 16-year old in print. The cretin Vuckelic could have made his point without rabidly lashing out at you by name; he could have simply referred to "the recent coulumn by the 16-year old" or something to that effect. But no, being a bully and a jerk (no doubt), he goes after a young man who had the courage to express his views and submit them for publication, knowing his article might subject him to ridicule. And sure enough, he's attacked in print by a total loser.
But there's a lesson to be learned here, young Mr. Anderson. We conservatives need to recognize the viciousness of the lefties, who have somehow acquired the reputation of being the kind, considerate, INCLUSIVE party.
But it's another lie, since the the left is bascially driven by hate for conservatives.
So be strong, kid. Toss this one off, and continue to follow your conscience and your beliefs. You are clearly on the right path.
Please consider submitting your comments below to the Times letter section----seriously, the public needs to read your thoughtful, accurate responses like yours. Just make sure the letter is LESS than 150 words. Typically, the editor seems to favor letters that reply to another published letter, so the chances are good that yours would appear in print.
You have to supply your name, address and phone #, which many of the weasels that frequent this site never would. I'd write it myself, but I already have another ready to go.
We NEED more letter writers like you to help set the public straight since, as you know, Obama is continually thwarting the law, defying the will of the people, and trashing the Consitution----so wherever you look, there's another fire to put out! But that's how the radical, Akinskyites operate---they keep assaulting you from every possible angle until they wear you down. We can't let it happen. The fact that they have the mainstream media covering up for them means we have to work THAT MUCH HARDER.....and the Letters to the Editor section in the Times is the ONLY place where we have a shot at challenging the leftists' lies and distortions.
Don't waste your time here on-line in the trenches, where a few people congregate daily to see who can p__ss the furthest...especially the vicious, psycho-babblers as seen in the comment below that begins "As usual..."
Rise above it and help preserve America.
There you are, sir. You check into this discussion, declare your Republican/conservative values in a sincere and civil way, and what happens...." What else? You get attacked and ridiculed by some leftist creep.
It should now be obvious to anyone that the "kinder, gentler, more sensitive" side of the political spectrum...you know, the ones who love to lecture us on TOLERANCE and acceptance of views which differ from our own...are in fact vicious and spiteful and, like good Alinsky-ites, insult, demean, and mock those they disagree with.
Keep the faith, conservatives; we'll get through this.

That was one COOL letter, and I thank you for posting it; really made my day.
That was EXACTLY the point I was going to make about the person who goes by the name of J(erk) Bird, who uses his(her?) pathetic little spitballs to try to take me down on this website; I wonder if he's(she's?) got what it takes to submit a letter with his(her?) name on it and risk putting up with all of the _____ from jerks like himself (herself?).
I happen to make my living in the arts---the classical music profession---and my writing letters to the Times with my name on them carries a definite risk for me professionally. It's fascinating to see just how far the left's claims of "tolerance for other viewpoints" goes if those views happen to be conservative; it's really pretty funny...AND sad.
I respect and want the absolute BEST for all people; but success (and "fairness") can't be legislated and controlled by a centralized government without the theft of our personal liberty. This runs entirely contrary to the founding principles of our nation, and it's what Obama's "transformation" is all about. You might be surprised by the number of immigrant musicians I work with who say to me "What's going on now in America is what I thought I had escaped from."
But thanks again for your comment, which shows a lot of class and a sense of honor that I really appreciate.
NOW---as to J Bird's comments---- as Moe Howard often said to his dim-witted partners: "I'll explain it so even YOU can understand it."
RE: The Obamacare bill; I intentionally used the word "creation"---that the GOP "was entirely shut out of the CREATION" of the bill; when you are limited to 150 words, you have to choose them carefully and hope that a person of average intelligence can follow your meaning. OF COURSE the GOP had plenty of opportunity to try to affect the Health Care Bill by means of legislation; come to think of it, though.... all three of the GOP House versions of the bill were SHOT DOWN in committee by the Dems and never even made it to the floor. So what were they supposed to do--sit by and let the leftist thugs run over them without a fight?
The basic version of the bill was CREATED behind closed doors, and attended only by Reed, Pelosi, the man currently serving as mayor of Chicago, Tom Daschle (the Dem's point man on the topic) and a bunch of lefty lawyers. Both duly-elected minority leaders, Boehner and McConnell, revealed that they were never ONCE EVEN VISITED or CALLED---FOR ANY REASON---- by B.O.'s administration during the period from Feb, 2009 to March 2003; that's 13 MONTHS that the LEFTIST-IN-CHIEF and his minions totally ignored their GOP colleagues Nice bipartisanship, right?
As to your last "point": with the country on the brink of financial ruin, the number-one priority of all sane, rational, common-sense Americans should be to ensure that B.O. is a one-termer----otherwise, we're OVER that brink.
I rarely ever read these comments, and now I've been reminded why. But Racoon's post is a good one.

I rarely pay any attention to these comments but, in this case, I thought I'd check them out, and I noticed yours. I'm glad you wrote, and hope you haven't received any threats (and I'm serious) as a result of your comment about extremism in your recent letter.
I understand and recognize the validity of your commnets re: the "circular" arguments; yes, things are definitely at a stalemate. My point is this; I think bipartisanship is GREAT, and a noble goal. But it can never work in America when we are dealing with a person whose ideaology is so far removed from the basic foundations of our Constitution; we CANNOT be bargaining away our basic liberties and rejecting our founding principals simply for the sake of a slap-on-the-back and a steak dinner with our pals across the aisle---THAT"S why Lugar lost----because the guy still thinks it's 1965, and you can jump out in front and support radical leftists like Sotomayor and Kagan, and then next time around, Obama and his guys will do the same for you; WRONG! These guys take no prisoners; they'd just as soon cut your throat (figuratively, of course) as shake your hand.
What's really sad--no TRAGIC, is the fact that we are so close to losing the basic foundations of our great nation, while we're being lectured about being nice with the lefties. And for anyone who would argue that Mourdock and the Tea Party are just as "extreme" as the radical left------there's one important difference: we conservatives have the U.S. Constitution to back up our position; the left rejects it, or cherry-picks the occasional phrase here-or-there that they can twist to support their views.
Obama and friends must be defeated; THEN--when we are all working within the legal limits of our Constitution, I hope the bipartisanship thing will get the country back on track.
