    "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."

    You forgot the important fact that those rights come from God. Since HE gave us those rights, HE is the one who gets to define those rights, not us. He defined marriage as a union of one man and one woman.

  3. So where does equal marriage rights end? Does it end at same sex marriage? How about polygamy? Why can't they have their equal rights? What about the NAMBLA people? They would love to have these same rights? Isn't it discrimination to give gays the right to marry but not the other groups? You see, when you change the historical and Biblical definition of marriage to appease one group, every other group will also want that same "right". My question is, why should they be any different? This is a very dangerous slippery slope.

  4. I agree, Tim. The airport could have great potential if the government would back out and let the private investors have control. If they can't make it work, it won't work, but at least it is private money being put at risk and not more tax payers dollars.

  5. The unintended consequence of the Istep program is that teachers are now having to teach for a test. Everything from whether a student passes or fails a respective grade to teacher compensation and future employment is determined by how well the students do on this one test. The test should be an indicator of the quality of a school district, but it should not be the only determining factor nor should it be the focus of classroom instruction. The Indiana schools need to get back to traditional teaching methods and use this test simply as a measuring stick of the school / student progress.

  6. Another incident in Accident Alley. There are an unbelievable number of accidents on I-65 between Exit 201 in Remington and exit 240 in Lowell... Another reason that the expansion of the interstate to 3 lanes North of Lowell is a good start to what needs to happen all the way to Indianapolis....

  10. As someone who travels to various parts of the Northwest suburbs of Chicago via I-65, I am pleased that there will be a way to avoid the traffic and congestion of the 80-94 / 294 corridor. This is very much needed and will be beneficial to all communities affected by the new interstate.
