  1. This is why YOU hate cops, you really lack common sense. The offense occurred on a public road and was carried out further on "private property." Therefore the cops DO have jurisdiction. Just because he reached his destination doesn't mean he's on "home base" what are you three? Oli Oli Oxen Free and nanny nanny boo boo, you can't touch me?! Seriously, punish the cops? For what, doing their jobs. FURTHER to that, he was driving like an absolute idiot, endagering not just his life, but that of the other people on the street. The job of a police officer is to serve and PROTECT the citizens, sounds to me like they needed to reign this moron in before he hurt someone. AND doing a doughnut in the parking lot, come on, can you say juvenile and immature. I agree with Toms Special Prison Friend, the woman owes a BIG thanks to the Portage cops. Common sense, you need to get some! Quit being a hater of the cops, it may have been your life they saved that day.

  2. It really doesn't matter which direction he was traveling in. Common sense should dictate that if you are approaching train tracks and someone ahead of you is stopped to make a turn, you DO NOT stop on the tracks. Every time I see someone stopped on tracks, my first thought is - idiot - my second thought is to look for an escape route in the event a train does come and I need to get out of the way. From what I am to understand, it was simple impatience that led to this accident. He went around a car that was stopped at the crossing and ignored the flashing lights and even more sadly, this was witnessed by some of his relatives. Having lived near that intersection for years, I know it can be a tricky spot. I'm so sorry for this family and the pain they are now having to deal with. It makes it especially hard being around the holidays. This should be a lesson for one and all, train vs. car, the car will not win, ever. As the saying goes, look, listen, live. May this man rest in peace.

  3. Say what you will about his chin, this man can make a MEAN burger. I am so disappointed that he no longer has an interest in the Smashmouth Burgers place. They have (had) great food, and now that I know Joe is no longer in the kitchen, I won't be going back there. Knowing both Joe and his partner, I am not surprised that there was a falling out, again, disappointed that Joe was the one to have to walk away. I will have to check out his cookbook because, as I said, this man can COOK. I think he would have been better off going on Master Chef as opposed to Big Brother. Love ya Coach Joe!

  4. That is a very surprising statement -- Schererville hands down has the best citizens police academy around - seeing as how it was Arvanitis that was running it. That guy is the WORST example of police officer that Schererville could have picked. The guy is a bully and thief that hides behind his badge and gun. I have a lot of respect for police officers, but this scum bag shouldn't be one. Not only is he a bad cop, he's a rotten coach that belittles and demeans his players regardless of age, stacks teams and treats everyone else in "his" football program like garbage. Not to mention that he condones his sons use of steriods, probably shoots the kid up himself. Wow citizens academy, you guys drew yourselfs a winner there!

  5. I have no tolerance for these kind of scum bags, crimes against children should be punishable by death, period. However, I find it interesting that many of the people posting here on this story only last week (I think) were up in arms over the fact that an alledged molesters picture was posted and were calling the victim a crack pot because of sudden recall of events. Someone even went so far as to suggest that women and children lie all the time about accusations such as these. I AM NOT SAYING THESE KIDS LIED. I always believe the victim FIRST so don't come down on me, I was just pointing out the irony a couple of weeks make. Also, did anyone else happen to notice this sickos lazy eye and that the wacko stabber also has the same lazy eye. Should be we worried about people with REALLY lazy eyes? Just wondering, something to think about at any rate.

  6. I was about two years old when I was first molested by a family member, I am now way north of 40. The person responsible was caught when I was nine, and he is now dead. All that being said, while I remember a lot of what happened, it wasn't until just a few years back that it hit me that I was two when it all started. And yes, it all flooded back. I wasn't on a shrinks couch, it was a phrase that I had heard and it triggered a small memory and when I thought back, just let my mind go, a lot of memories came forward. There is a lot of shame and blame that comes with being a victim of this abuse and only when a person can forgive themselves for that shame and blame can true healing begin. And with that comes a clarity that non-victims will never understand. Is this woman a nutcase, could be. But she could very well be telling the absolute truth. At this point, I have to side with this woman, knowing what she (allegedly) endured and understanding that at young ages memories are deeply surpressed as a defense mechanism. Why not wait and see how this plays out before crucifying her and calling her a nut job. Dont judge, pacman, I've seen and read your posts many times and it seems that you all tend to take the side of the "villian" while crucifying the victims, it's always the other persons fault. And OLD PIRATE, your post just makes me want to vomit, are you a woman and child hater that you'd make such a disgusting comment, seriously! Pacman, in case you haven't noticed, a "purported victims" name is NEVER released. What happened when she was 14, 18, 32 or 48 doesn't really matter, she's coming forward now, publically. Maybe it was the family's choice to not have her come forward, because Fast Ed, I think you're right and he may have been a family member/family friend. Maybe he tried this dispicable act with one of the victims children or other relatives and that prompted her actions. As usualy the Times "facts" are thin and this article doesn't say much at all. And I'll just bet that more victims of this sick derranged individual will start coming forward. It only takes on voice to make the others heard.
