1. They had better keep close watch on the remaining statues, now that the word is out they are "pewter" - a valuable metal - and worth $10,000 each. Sometimes too much info is just that, TOO MUCH.

  2. Continue to reward people for having more & more children and this is what we have. Kids are no longer the joy in life, a treasure to be cherished, nurtured and respected, They are a commodity used to get money, either government-sponsored or, when that's not enough, through despicable methods like this. How tragic - how shameful. Here's hoping this child is removed from her custody and raised by someone who can love and RESPECT her, make her feel special in all the right ways. We can only hope.........

  4. To Ponder This: Really?? You think you're entitled because the Bakery did not give you a job....really?? Legal actions like this are the reason courts are tied up for YEARS - frivilous does not begin to describe it. Move on. Go get another job, start playing their lottery pool and win fair and square. And to the lawyer who might take this case - huge shame on you!!! I don't hate you but I do think your grasping for something to which you are NOT entitled. MOVE ON !!!

  5. tt - three words for you: liability, liability, liability. Everyone is afraid now to be sued. Sorry, but it's a fact. The best thing you can do is call 911 and get professional help for them ASAP. Kudos to your boyfriend for comforting the driver - it should be what we all do but for the fear of legal ramifications.

  6. To the high & mighty at Trader Joe’s – be advised: I have made my last 25-mile trip to Orland Park to shop at your store. Keep in mind that each trip, I spend in excess of $100 to stock up on your store brand items. Since we don’t have the right demographics or concern for healthy eating or expansion potential, it makes no sense for me to continue to support your brand.

Thanks for finally letting us know how you feel. Saves me time and gas money. I won’t set foot in another Trader Joe’s if you GAVE the food away. Done & done.

  7. Sounded like an interesting change until I saw that the new owner had been affiliated with Lighthouse in Cedar Lake. That’s a big turn-off for me. Lighthouse has terrible wait staff and, despite bad reviews and recommendations, they do nothing about it. We don’t go there any longer.

Hopefully, these new owners will take heed or this place is off our list, too.

  8. Each boy needs to pay the dairy farmer for one cow. The 17-yr old probably has a job. The 14-yr old can pay from his allowance, even if it's $2.00 each week. They should be taught responsibility for their actions. Consequences are a good lesson for these boys and their parents, rather than jail time or being exposed to even more violence in the juvenile justice system. And their "high-powered rifle" privileges should be immediately revoked - that's on the parents.

  10. Let's see, 3 boys, ages 5, 4, and 2 years old. 2 found wandering in the street alone at 7:30am and the third sleeping on the couch, not in a bed. And the Dad is / Dads are where?? Not mentioned, single Mom, yes, I forgot. Common sense advice: don't have any more kids because you can't properly protect the 3 you already have AND you should never leave children alone in or near a swimming pool, never, even for a minute !!
