  1. In theory this SHOULD save money and re-allocate resources. However, you are talking our Lake County politicians here. They do not understand how the 'real world' works! All the suits and lawyers who have no idea the scope of the project or the final goal (other than to spend unlimited tax payer money) = a dysfunctional system that increases our taxes.
Not that I am for privatization of everything but if you gave this to a private company OR the Sisters who run Franciscan Health Alliance, you'd have a functional program that actually makes money!

  2. How long does the Sheriff's department need to complete a complete investigation? This guy has been off work PAID by the Taxpayers of Lake County since June 2012.....
This only adds to the County Corruption.
    Get it together. !

  3. GrEAT IDEA! But, if you've not completed any clinical trials or secured funding for testing of the technology, unlikely you will get the FDA to approve it for use in humans in 1.5 years. Just not realistic.
But Good Luck....will like to follow this one

  4. Time for the Munster distribution center to go away! If they cannot service NW INdiana, why is NWI servicing their company? Plain and simple...go back to IL!

  5. GREED!!!
God does not favor those who are greedy. YOu may THINK you have it all figured out with your elaborate shows and possessions, the he himself knows the truth~

  6. You can put all the trauma centers you want in NWI but without the experienced staff to operate them (surgeons of all specialties, nurses, radiology, respiratory, Intensivists), etc) those patients will NOT fare well. So, would you rather have a really expensive, aweful trauma center in NWI or travel a short distance to a qualified, credentialled center that has the trained staff ON SITE 24-7 and increase your odds of living????? If NWI were to have a trauma center, the physician or surgeon "on call" likely lives further away than 45 minutes......they are not going to be sitting int he emergency department waiting for the trauma patient to come in every day!
This is all political! Has nothing to do with the overall welfare of the citizens and taxpayers of Indiana.

  7. The current situation is the same as that for the trauma center.
Everyone thinks NWI NEEDS it but no one wants to FUND it or staff it....
Specialists are just not going to come to NWI out of the kindness of their heart to sit and wait for the trauma patient or the gravely ill child to show up. And when they DO show up, they'll be flown out anyway because no hospital can have every needed specialty at the ready. That is the BENEFIT to having academic medical centers within 30-45 minutes of Lake & Porter Counties. Sorry to say it....but true.

  8. It doesn't matter how "nice" Mr Schapp is. What he did to the young lady was a criminal act. An act that he repeated over and over again. That young lady and thousands of others trusted the leader of their church. I do not belong to that church, have never been there. But I know many families heart broken and sickened by the thought that their spiritual leader could be so selfish and deceitful. How do you write a letter to deny that? ? ?

  9. Sadly, the taxpayers and the students will get screwed again by this most recent "event". So many questions with so few answers. If she resigns with severance, can we prosecute her in the future once we know what she's really done? Or does the severance package offer her immunity?
