  1. Dear Lakeshore,
There were gun rallies in many capitols, cities and towns Saturday across the USA. Some of the largest were NY and DC. Over 1,000 attended in Hartford Connecticut. To be so opinionated about Portage and the type of people you ASSume attended this rally is unfortunate.
I gave you the courtesy to go back and read some of your other comments and my, my, my you have a lot of them. You are anti-Indiana and don't mind bolstering your opinion.
You also seem to highly respect the educated and look down on Indiana because of the lack there of. The following is a direct quote from one of your many recent opinions ....

"The artical mentions the state of Minnesota which has one of the highest educational attainment rate of 32% of residents with a bachelors degree, Indiana has only 22%. That's why Minnesota ranks 11th in income per state ($57,000 per household) while Indiana ranks 31st ($46,500 per household)."

First of all I would like to point out for someone in favor of higher education, you misspelled article.
Secondly, if Portage, Indiana, or the USA do not live up to your standards, maybe this is not the place for you. Do not disrespect places and people you do not know and if you plan to do so.....do your homework.

  5. Were you fired or did you quit your union job? Did you walk away from healthcare, retirement benefits, etc? Are you a bachelor..no wife…no kids to put through school? Did your union go belly up and you are mad at the world? What happened Phantom?
Are you retired and your pension sucks? Your union did not fight for you?
Be happy for us for one day! It is 3 years (not 4}. 3 more years I can feed my kids. I think we did America proud and united. We stood up for our rights. God Bless America!

  6. Mr.Commodore, you crack me up. Do you think that management is unaware of what goes on. If this is true, I wish your buddy could fix it. Management turns a blind eye. They are as lazy as any union man.

  9. Sounds like you may be management. If so you are just as concerned about this dispute as any of us. Here is to “hard working" management. Good luck trying to do the jobs of “hard working” union. Please keep those Coke Ovens running for all our sakes.

  10. FYI A lot of foreign cars now use American Steel and parts. If we all tried to buy “as much as we could (American made)” don’t you think it would help? I shop at Walmart but try to be conscious of where it is made and buy American if I can. I would like to help save or supply an American with a job, wouldn’t we all?
