The Roller Dome was the best thing in my life. Growing up, thats all that I had. It was the only place to hang out, and the only place that my mother would feel safe leaving me at. I spent my entire childhood at the Roller Dome. It was a second home to me. Lester was like a second father to the "regulars" that were there two-three times a week like I was. I even had my picture taken by the "Hammond Times" and featured in the newspaper two times. If I had the money, I would open it back up as a skating rink, I believe with some work and updates that it would do well. I know that my children love to roller skate, and its not hard to do.
