Nice idea but without a city tax, there goes another tax, you've accomplished nothing.
And of course you can expect an additional tax increase fairly soon to pay for Regional transit run by unelected political appointees.
The only way I would even consider another income tax is if they completely eliminated property tax for homestead property and if 50% of the gaming revenue went directly back to citizens in the form of an annual check. Obviously that ain't gonna happen.
The worst part of all this is they claim they can't make due on the money they get now yet they always have new things to spend on. They refuse to take politics out of government hiring (how much have we paid to settle those related suits?) and just have an independent human resources department.
Any income tax scheme this county comes up with will certainly not be in the best interest of those paying it. But sadly you people will still reelect those who forced it on us and those who pushed for it. So blame yourselves when it comes. It is your own fault.
You put someone into a position you know they can't do to your satisfaction and don't bother to even properly train them for only one reason and that is to get rid of them. Enough said.
You can thank Obama for Chicago having such a crummy mayor so just maybe the district has had enough. One can only hope.
There you have it! The perfect example of why we need an independent HR department no ifs, ands, or buts. He was perfectly capable of the job he was hired for but to avoid ADA laws he was involuntarily transferred to a job Buncich fully and personally intended him to be unable to perform. What a piece of garbage. Using a person with disabilities as a political pawn like that. And in the police department of all things!
Well you people hired this guy with no morals so no big surprise. I sure didn't vote for him.
And when you consider what the tax money is going to and the fact that despite all the money people pay in the government STILL spends much more than it takes in I am furious!
True any comments here will not change the past. But perhaps they are a needed warning to others not to be sucked in by all the hype. Even last week I was channel surfing and caught the good Pastor Munsey soliciting funds for an unrelated ministry in a telethon. It is a shame that ministries in general are not so concerned about financial accountability and ethical behavior in the people who represent them. Telling people to part with their needed assets when the very people asking for the donation have apparently practiced non-Christian financial mismanagement is just plain out wrong.
It is one thing to have a hope or an expectation for God to provide. But running up your credit and expecting God to come to your door with cash in hand is more a rarity and should seldom, if ever, be an expectation. You do what you can with the resources you have and trust God to provide the rest if it is a project beyond your means. That's not the same thing as hanging the bank out to dry for your bum debts on the claim that God had a plan. No. God may have had a vision but your greed or foolishness botched the plan.
How many televangelists have been so vain as to think God couldn't possibly let their important mission fail? We unfortunately have a long list of such self-diluted souls and behind them a host of duped souls who were expecting treasure in heaven or blessing on earth for their sacrifice only to find it was turned into wood, hay, and stubble. Yes contributors also have a responsibility to have an informed good faith that their donations are more than tossing money in a general direction for a desired happy result. That plan hasn't worked out so well for the US government either I think most will agree.
