  1. As long as the tax rate doesnt go up....yea raise in wages of course means more but the % stays the same. DUH Do you even know what % you pay now? Raise income % on the wealthy not on the poor.

  2. Really Hopeless $50.00 for education. What world are you living in? Try more like 3000 a semester, not including books. Well you must make GOOD money not to complain because I can pull 10 people off the streets and out of those 10 I would say 8 would complain. You must be one that has nothing to complain about. It has nothing to do with Rep./Dem.
One example is gas prices do you know the manager of that gas station can make the price of gas whatever they want. Why do you think differrent Speedways have different prices. Competition. It has nothing to do with Rep./Dem. its all business owner. Do you watch the stock market? If the price of barrel of gas goes up our gas prices go up ~ way up but if the price goes down do you see gass prices go way down NO and why not??? Just answer that one question. Homework for today is get a piece of paper write down the gas price today and what the barrel is at and keep track for yourself and see if this ONE thing is fair. Then we will move on to the next education lesson. Since you are all up in education.

  3. Totally agree with you Hunterone ~ ask a roofer what he makes an hour and then see how much profit the owner is getting in his pocket. To replace a roof today costs about 10,000 what average person has 10,000 today. I use to be able to save and I have a good job. But, with health care ~ gas ~ food ~ rent ~ elec/gas ~ cable ~ phone etc going up I dont have a penney to even buy anything extra and Im not a shopper at all. Im a work / home type of person and maybe an occasional going out on a weekend. Owners need to a cut in pay in my opionion. Insurance companies need to wake up and bring the costs down. Why does a doctor charge $200.00 today for an office visit for what?

  4. What do you do today? How much do you make?
I disagree with you ~ I dont believe the under 21 years of age are the ones only with a 7.25 an hour pay. When was the last time you got a raise? If you did get a raise your company is very generious. Most companies arent like that. I remember getting hired in where I am today and them telling us we would be evaluated yearly. Yea right happened once and it ended and no raise except for gas, food, elec/gas etc thats the only raise everyone is seeing these days.

  5. First off I dont drink Hopeless. Im not rambling on ~ yes, I read the article it is abount minimum wage increase. For some reason I couldnt post everything all in one. So, I had to split my conversation in 3 parts. If Ceo's and management took a pay cut maybe there business would make money then. I work hard for a leaving do you know that the workers here still make 10 to 12 per hour and they made that 14 years ago. These are people that work hard and economy prices have skyrocketed but there pay checks have not in 14 years. DO YOU HEAR ME??? So, yes I know what Im talking about. But, I bet you the CEO got his good raise every year. Dont get me wrong yes of course the CEO should make good money but 3 million come on. While the worker is making 7.25hr and trying to make ends meet. 7.25 x 40=290 without taxes taken out an average cell phone bill is let say 50.00 gas to go to work for week 75.00 that leaves 165 (without taxes taken out) for rent ~ food ~ tv ~ elec/gas ~ god forbid if something goes wrong with car and forget about doing anything on the weekends. Go ahead and try to get a good job these days. I can do anything you want me to do at a 120% but because I dont have experience nobody will hire you. Give people a chance you have a 60day grace period to get rid of them if it doesnt work out.

  6. Lets lower their Income by half and all is good. they wont do that because there are tax breaks for showing a negative. You think doctors that charge a rediculous amount for office visits and lets say its 200.00 and your copay is 25 and the insurance picked up 50 the balance of 125 is a right off on taxes and he will get some of that back. So come on people wake up and smell the coffee. Why do you think Insurance premiums went up. Because they know they can. Do we get an increase in pay to set off the cost of living? Big no ~ never ever

  7. Wake up people. Look at the Manager of nipsco what he makes. But, does he care if gas prices go up no because he makes a ridiculous amount of money as well. Lets cut wages on ceo's management etc and give the hard working employee a wonderful raise for once. So, I agree with the 9.00 increase because owners will not give a raise to the people that keep them in business.

  8. First, if CEO's ~ Owners ~ Management didnt make 100k a year and I'm sure it is more than that. Focus on giving raises to employees that make you the money. If it wasnt for the employee you wouldnt have a business to begin with.
Example ~ CEO of JCP 3 Million Dollar Salary is that right? Fired tons of good employees to hire young kids part time. Now, let get rid of that ridiculous number. No reason for him and other management to make that kind of money. Lets put any CEO on a 20,000 year salary. Lets see him buy food and pay all his bills on that salary. The sad thing is not one owner sees that gas prices ~ food ~ taxes ~ car insurance etc has gone up and up but, one thing that hasnt gone up is there employees wages.
