  2. Sorry, lost control for a moment. Congrats to the schools. Chris is absolutely correct. It's about teachers, parents and community.

Look folks, it's coming. These schools are the heart and soul of our neighborhoods. You need to educate yourself and look what many other communities have found out already–smaller neighborhood schools are better for the children and better for the community.

If after doing the research, you decide that big schools are for you, then so be it, but at least look at the other side of the issue and don't take everything the board is going to start feeding you as the gospel truth. Ask questions and attend the meetings.

  3. Hey Don,

If you really want to see some dogs get kicked, come on down to some of the school board meetings and see how the public is treated with disdain and contempt when they are actually asked a question. Talk about kickin' dogs!

  5. Can you say "Fox in the Henhouse". These people are like "Teflon Dons". Nothing sticks. Why? Because they are constantly covering their collective butts with the support of the Mayor, the City Council and legislators like Soliday.

Again, the truth is in a document down at the prosecutors office. The board violated state regulations and their own board bylaws with the purchase of the video scoreboard. The question is, did they do it intentionally? The board consists of three attorneys and a CPA so if they didn't do it intentionally, and I don't believe MOST of them did, then they are the most incompetent attorneys and CPAs on earth. They should have known better. Either way we lose.

  6. How could Northview win a ribbon???!!! A creepy, old neighborhood school that needs to be moved to the bean fields outside of town. Impossible! Anyone with a brain knows it's about shiny faucets and brand new high tech whiteboards. There must be some sort of mistake. Central, Northview and many of the other neighborhood schools are always receiving some sort of hokey awards for achievement. There has got to be some sort of error somewhere. These schools cannot possibly provide the education our kids need–they are just too old and broken down to work.

We need to move forward as quickly as possible with a costly referendum to fix these liabilities to our community. Please contact the school board immediately and ask that they get the bulldozers gassed up and ready to roll. We need to move quickly before the public has a chance to react or be properly informed. See you at midnight. Muwahhaaaaa!!!!!

  8. One last thing. Mr. Berta made a joke about coming into an administration center that was empty. Where's the joke? In the last 6 months, four of our top admins leave a school system they considered the pinnacle of education in Indiana. Really? No one questions why and now they make jokes about it? Really, this looks like business as usual folks. It's a system run amuck with absolutely NO checks and balances.

  9. Hey Times, get off your butts and do some real reporting on this mess and you might win some awards. Everything you guys write is like some sort of 4H Fair fluff piece. There's gold in them hills and you are ignoring it either because you are one, lousy reporters, or two, you sit across from them during lunch at Rotary. You pick.
