  1. Congratulations on Mr. Stevenson for his son's championship! It is great to see all the former East Chicago athletes do well for Coach Maldonado! It is awesome to see how Merrillville always is able to recruit wrestlers that at the time of recruitment were competing for E. Chicago Too bad East Chicago can't stop the behind the scene;s recruitment. Didn't the father mentioned in the article have a few of his sons compete for East Chicago and low and behold suddenly they are recruited to Merrillville! I guess the rules have changed in the last few years! How about the Hispanic and philipino wrestlers that were in East Chicago and suddenly they are enrolled in Merrillville.Is not Dr. Lux still the superintendent, oh well I guess he is a bit too busy to worry about a so called minor sport and the ethics related to it! And yes too bad no more olympics for the wrestlers. It seems like no one cares about the injustices done to the wrestling athletes!!

  2. Roy Richards was out coached.However, he continues to cry sour grapes with comments like "I would never do that to a friend"! I guess Roy doesn't have in enough time during the day to get his football team ready. I understand that his full teaching load and also being the A.D. would not give him time to do a better job of coaching. Did he think it was against the rules for the other coach to call the play? Every year this guy makes excuses and doesn't accept his charge with lame excuses! He has great athletes each year who also are great kids! Coach Richards, you need to accept your shortfalls. Don't blame another coach who followed the
    rules. Oh well maybe things will never change.
