- I agree that this is not the best solution, but this is not because of the recent pressure. The head of DHMA even stated that they have been meeting with DCS about this for awhile now. And what is the best solution? Caseworkers for DCS are not mental health specialists. Let's face it, caseworkers for DCS are better equipped to handle abusive/neglectful parents than they are to handle children with mental health problems who have fit parents. Unfortunately, there are beds in juvenile detention centers, but I don't think that is the answer either. What is the answer?
