Wow! Is there no end to the poor judgements of the Republicans. I have never been so ashamed to be a Republican in my life. As far as I know, everyone in my family has been a Republican. This idiocy with the Jeb Bush reforms is quickly building the Democrat fan base in my family. Honestly, I have never seen elected officials completely turn their backs on their bosses - the electorate - before. Perhaps I have been naive thinking that our elected officials actually endeavor to serve someone other than themselves. So far, they have weakened the teacher's union. Put less qualified teachers in school. Stripped vital funding from my kids' schools to the point where we have to pass a referendum so that they can keep the lights on. (By the way - our school does very well on standardized testing). Now, they are going to put someone who has no idea how to teach in change of schools. Somehow, all of these changes are good for children. I am fed up with the reckless disregard for common sense that our "leadership" is showing. It will be a very cold day in the hottest of regions before anyone who supports these reforms gets a vote from me. If I had any idea that simply removing Tony Bennett wouldn't be enough to change our course of action, I would have worked for the Gregg campaign. Perhaps I will next time around.
