- Todays Editorial says "Let Schools, not County, provide laptops" Im sure schools would prefer it that way as well except the state has cut funding funding to the point that there are just not funds available to provide the technology needed for our students to compete in todays environment. How to use the funds from the proceeds of the sale of Porter Hosptial will always be a political nightmare. Nancy Adams is asking for a very small portion of those funds to be used for the education of our children. I am sure there are many things those funds can be used for that will not have nearly the impact of putting technology in the hands of our future leaders. We passed a tax referendum in Duneland and you will see, one by one every school system use that same vehicle to provide the needed funds for edcuation. The county should help if possible with funds that are already available.
