- You will have good and bad paramedics and EMT's wherever you go. Prompt has 300 hundred employees vs maybe 50 paramedics and emt's employed by various municipalities. So, the chances are greater of having bad EMT's and paramedics based on numbers alone. I know Joe went out of his scope of practice on this call. I know Prompt is under the spot light right now for taking over EC. I bet people don't know that EC EMS had a basic crew do ALS skills on a call before Prompt took over, but let's not bring that up. There are a lot of paramedics and EMT's at Prompt that I wouldn't let treat any of my family members, but there are a lot that I would as well. You can go to any EMS service and find bad paramedics and EMT'S. Hammond,Gary,Schererville, Crown Point, St. John. But we don't hear any of this because they keep it away from the spot light.
