  3. If it was a black man in Gary who discharged a weapon as police were converging on a residence, the house would've had so many bullet holes in it that it would've collapsed. But if you're white and a former cop, you are shot with non-lethal ammunition.

  4. Overtaxed, will you point out in my article or anywhere else where I said the CEOs should work for free? You are obviously a relative of one of the executives or just plain stupid.

Please don't waste anymore of my time with your ridiculous responses.

  5. Of course the collective payments from the consumers provide the financial foundation for complete operations of Nipsco. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that Overtaxed and J Bird. Not that I have to explain the essence of my letter, it was written exactly for what I meant to say.

Why should the consumers foot the bill of the continued salary increases and hefty bonuses of Nisource and Nipsco's executives with rate increases proportionate to their increasing salaries and hefty bonuses?

As I stated, demonstrations are necessary to send a strong message to Mr. Skaggs and all other CEO's of utility companies that the people are fed up with systematic and relentless rate increases to support their lavish life styles.

Overtaxed and J Bird, if you see nothing wrong with paying whatever rate hikes Nipsco requests, why don't you send them monthly contributions towards their already hefty salaries and bonuses?

  6. On his way out after robbing the store, the perpetrator turned and shot Ms. Beavers. He then went back behind the counter and shot her again. He had a mask on concealing his identity, so why did he have to kill her? I am not an advocate for the death penalty but in this case, this individual doesn't deserve to breathe our precious air. While he was shooting this unarmed innocent mother, aunt, grandmother, sister and friend of many, he did not think about them. I hope the aunts, mothers and other relatives manage somehow to provide Ms. Beavers grandchildren with much love and attention.

I attended her memorial service and got a chance to meet her sons. One had just arrived from Afghanistan. I embraced them with a heavy and confused heart.

  7. While you idiots are praising Nipsco, I hope you don't lose your jobs anytime soon. These orchestrated events are exactly what they needed to do to further distract the gullible consumers.

  8. We all understand the necessity of modernizing the infrastructure, but doing so at the expense of consumers is a blatant scam to continue using the consumers to pay the annual seventeen plus millions of dollars for bonuses and other frivolous spending.

Several years ago, Concerned Citizens against Violence in Gary held several Informational Pickets at various locations to address NIPSCOs continuing rate increases. Several of our demonstrations were held in front of NiSource Headquarters in Merrilliville. Our presence there was found to be most effective.

Perhaps the people should unite for a major demonstration in Indianapolis in opposition to Senate Bill 560 making it through the Indiana House. Once it becomes law, our fight will be virtually impossible to fight. The only way they can continue to make us pay for the infrastructure, annual bonuses and all other bills is for us to remain sleep.

  9. This is an example of just how fried the brain cells are of marijuana smokers. This individual has to know marijuana leaves a strong odor, yet he made a decision to smoke some in an enclosed area with security officers. To put the icing on the cake, this fool not only placed himself under the microscope for analysis, he asked the examiner to use more magnification to locate the gun he was carrying. This is the kind of mentality responsible for much of the violence and crime inflicted on Gary residents. We know he wasn't at the Career Center to learn. Why was he there? Whatever the reason he decided to go to the Career Center with a gun and smoke a marijuana cigarette, he should undergo extensive phychological testing to study his brain. It has to be defective.

  10. It could've been an eighty year old grandmother from Gary, you rasists would've had something negative to say. I don't see what is so hard to understand about someone getting the "ups" on somebody.

I don't care if you have a machine gun, two hand grenades, a clock, a .45, an assault rifle and a switchblade, if individuals catch you off guard, there is nothing you can do but comply or die. Many times both.

If he would've resisted and got killed, no doubt you racists would've made every implication imaginable to associate him with some kind of illegal drug activity simply because how you view black people.
