  1. Sorry, Riley Choate! But you deserve nothing but the "short end of the stick" for how you treated your very own child! Locking him in a cage like a dog, forcing his own siblings to humiliate him and beat him, failing to provide him nutritious meals, an education, a bed. I'm a mother of 3 boys, and I can tell you that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that my children could say or do to me that would EVER make me want to cage them up and deprive them of a safe childhood! I've got friends that would do anything right now to be able to bear children, and the adoption process has been so tedious, and here's people like you and your wife, who are given the blessing of a child, and have no clue at all how to parent! That makes me sick! Anyone who treats a child like trash, especially his own flesh & blood, has some serious issues and does not deserve the opportunity to be reintroduced into society!

  2. Such a wonderful thing this family, community, and the Fire Dept. are doing for RIley Children's Hospital! My son is a "Riley Kid" as they call it, and still has annual visits for Ophthalmology & Neurology. Riley Children's Hospital saved his life in 2007! A lot of the times, we take these Children's Hospitals and services for granted, but when your child is in a scary, life or death situation, it's so comforting to know that you're in such good hand there, and you will never forget it either! We give back every opportunity we can!

  3. So, let me get this straight - An innocent child's life is worth $5,000 and an opportunity to go back to work? Once again, the juvenile justice system has failed! When my son was abused, did I get an opportunity to go back to work? No! I missed so much work being in the hospital with him, I LOST my job for good! No money in the bank = very very close to having my car repo'd and losing my home at the time. And to think someone gets the opportunity to make money, keep their car and home while facing child abuse charges makes me sick! Where is the justice there for the parents who actually cared for the child? For the loved ones who risked losing THEIR OWN jobs, car, and homes to sit in the hospital scared out of their mind for their baby?

  4. I can relate to your frustration with the justice system, tsktl. The abuser who abused my child and his child only got 12 years, will only serve 1/2, and will be out next year. A real slap in the face for the parent who's world was turned upside down since that day it happened. And my son and I have suffered the repercussions of this individual's actions ever since - flashbacks, night terrors, surgeries, trips back and forth to specialists in Indy, lost wages, withdrawal from college, etc. All while this individual is offered free counseling sessions, free healthcare, and given the opportunity to partake in education programs while incarcerated. Why is Indiana so against charging an individual for what he/she actually committed? If you ask me, the punishment should fit the crime, and the Justice System fails children miserably every time when it comes to child abuse and neglect. Baby killers and child abusers are offered this plea bargain of Neglect of A Dependent rather than murder or child abuse, which is a slap on the wrist. A child is the most precious gift from God, and should be treated just so. Come Judgement Day, God will take into consideration what these two did to God's child. My heart is heavy for this poor innocent child, who was never given a chance at life. I see that picture and cry and just want to wrap my arms around him and love on him, but I know that's not possible. But I have comfort in knowing he's in God's arms now...

  5. I cannot comprehend why anyone would want to do such a heinous crime to another innocent child. From being treated like a dog to being treated like the trash we through away just breaks my heart! I think about all the degrading Christian went through, all of the tears, the fears, the pain this child experienced every day; while my own children got to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the table, play with toys, sleep in beds, use the bathroom, wear clean clothes, and most importantly, feel loved as a child. Christian was never treated like the child he was, that he deserved to be. Choate, this was your precious baby! You gave this child life, how could you be the very same person who took it away? Kubina, as a wife and a stepmother, it is your responsibility also to protect your man's children, to treat those children as your own, and do what's right for them. You also failed. It doesn't matter if any of you were abused as a child as well - not a plausible excuse! Man up & break the cycle!
