I like to occasionally ride my bicycle on the trail, so I can relate to the potential danger of traffic, especially the way people drive these days. Does anyone practice 'defense driving' anymore? However these are troubling economic times, so as an Indiana resident, I agree with the readers who support repair of the Cline Avenue bridge section that connects us to Illinois, over work to support the bike trail. I would guess that making the Cline Bridge extension a priority, would generate much more revenue.
Also too, we sometimes do more harm to the ecology than good, when we interfere with the natural order of things, by polluting, and/or by inserting exotic species, which may include bridges.
