- So what you are saying is, that we are going on our 5th police chief since January of 2010??? Seems to me that the police department isn't the problem, it is the mayor. Too much micro-management going on in the house. We need out police and firemen to feel comfortable and confident. Not like the ax is just waiting. Maybe the next resignation needs to come from the Mayor. Pony up, Brian. I'll supply the pen.

- Doug came and cleaned my chimney this year in Hobart. He was very professional, and CLEAN! He spent time to make sure there were several canvas tarps laid out to assure no mess left for me. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. He also inspected the chimney inside and out. I will continue to use Doug next year and every year I have a fireplace. His rates were affordable and upfront. ho hidden fees. Thanks for a great job!

- @ spreadtheword...spoken like a true soccer mom...and you probably feel they should give out 6th and 7th place ribbons too??? If it's not who wins or loses, but how you play the game...then why keep score??? This is a huge problem with our society today. Our children need to learn how to be a gracious "loser" as well as a gracious "winner". Life has failures, if we teach children how to deal with adversity, we will be better off. They don't learn by being told they are the 6th best player out of 8. Life needs 2 Minute Warriors. I was one in High School. Was not good at all. Learning to deal with that taught me alot. I attribute some of that to my success in life now.

- You people are blind. This really doesn't matter, as they all already have poker machines. The "for entertainment only" signs are only for show. I know this because I have played the "cherry master" machines at all of these locations...as well as 3 others in Lansing and have been paid out for my winning at all. The only diference is that now other people will get some of the profits, and not just the bar, pizza parlor, or Legion post. Pull your head out of the sand and leave these people alone. It is a game of chance...just like lottery, scratch offs, and pull tabs.

- "My Town"???? its alot of peoples town. They are not talking about bringing in slot machines into Bukes! They are talking about the Cherry Master machines that are already in the bars. Like you said...they are already paying out anyway! Give it a rest! Legalize it! And so what if only some of the proceeds go to help pay for the streets...at least some of it will! As of right now...NONE of it is. Just into the greedy bar owners pockets. If you are so upset and the Pastors are outraged...call the AG about the bars paying out now. What do you think the drunks are doing in the bars at 3:00???? Playing the machines. Grow up! Gambling is illegal...but ignorance should be too.
