  1. My son was telling me last night the his whole school will be making snowflakes for Sandy Hook. He had said that his teacher was reading the list of schools countrywide that will be sending these wonderful snowflakes to these children. It warms my heart that in the midst of this sensless tragedy that children are banning together to support these children. This is what we need to teach our kids, love, support and kindness to your neighbor. I love this gesture and I pray that this will help with the greiving and healing that these kids need.

  2. It's more like, how long before you get robbed by them! I have a 16K ring that I can't wear because the center stone keeps coming loose. I've had them fix it three times already and the last time it was loose again before the week was out. While it's insured, I don't want to run the risk of loosing the beautiful stone. My husband bought it on the advise of Josh that it is a sturdy ring/setting because I am an active person and he didn't want to have to worry about having to replace the stone.

  3. Hey Ed...
Because police/firemen pay into a private pension fund, they do not pay into Social Security and therefore are not entitled to claim Social Security when they retire from the force. IF however, they worked a job/jobs that did pay into Social Security, they are of course entitled to those benefits.

  4. All of these issues and more are why we moved from the Lake County School district. However, I will say, Dr. Malchow was the prinicpal of the school my son went to, and I can honestly say, she is a no nonsense woman and I feel she would be great to have on the board. If Ms Lessentine is the woman I personally know, she is a Dyer resident. Just because she teaches outside of the state does not mean she would not be a great addition to the board. She has four kids in the Lake Central School District and again, would ROCK on this board. She is an educator herself and understands all to well the politics behind these school boards and she hates the politics. Her involvment would be for ALL the students and she does not a hidden adgenda. None of this has any impact on me personally, as I said, we've moved far away from Lake Central. But these two woman can and will make a difference.

  5. Oh good Lord, no! I can't stand the man, he was just the best example of an opposite of "When I see someone smoking I think uneducated, uninformed low class Larry the Cable Guys, Roseann Barrs or residents of a correctional institution" Personally I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn't get re-elected. Besides, he said he would quit smoking if elected, yet another one of his broken promises for change.

  7. Hey Regionnaire you said "When I see someone smoking I think uneducated, uninformed low class Larry the Cable Guys, Roseann Barrs or residents of a correctional institution." Wanna tell that to Obama. Whether your a fan of the president or not, I'm not sure he fits your definition of a smoker. Nice try though.

  8. Some of these comments are killing me faster than my cigarettes, "choke on your gross molecules" "taste your ashtray breath" about the only thing that I agree with is that yes as smokers we are discriminated against. Being a smoker and living with a non smoker even he has never used those colorful expressions. In fact, since I don't smoke inside my home and take care very good care of myself, with the exception of smoking, he forgets that I do smoke. And INJUDE, I love the idea of handing a smoker their butts back. AND handing out plastic or paper bags for cars is a great idea as well, but know that most people toss their butts out of the window because ashtrays in vehicles are now OPTIONS not standard equipment in vehicles. So putting a hot burning cigarette in a plastic or paper bag while driving is an exceptional idea.

  9. Mouth germs into the earth, seriously, that's the best you can come up with. And you can smell the smoke from a car in front of you WITH your windows up, that's one heck of a nose you've got there. Maybe you should apply for a job with the DEA.

  10. I didn't realize that "fine establishments" had only smoking areas. Most "fine establishments" I've been to had either smoking or non smoking. AND if it was a really "fine establishment" then the owners spent a lot of money on good ventilation systems so as not to affect the non smokers. Maybe you need to upgrade your definition of "fine establishment"

And I do agree with DC I have never had a problem with going outside either.
