  1. I've been a County employee for many years, over 20. I donate to that sick bank and it's been used for cancer treatment patients & serious illness, not for general sickness, and I have yet to use it. So, now what about your theories. I work my rear end of for all you "tax payers", and yes, I pay taxes too. Find something legit to whine about.

  3. She's 18 years old now. She has been out of control since before her early teens. Her crimes range from stealing a car to sexual assault. It's time to quit feeling sorry for her and incarcerate her. She needs some kind of structure, and unfortunately prison will be the only answer. She has no regard for anyone, including her grandparents, or anyone else in authority,

  4. The vast majority of you have no idea what you are talking about as it relates to E911. PolitiansRLiars is way off stating AT&T does the mapping and day to day technical issues in E911. You know nothing, Cicillian is smart to jump ship now. It's only going to get worse. Politicians are only good for cutting checks when it comes to anything remotely related to police fire and ambulance response, managment or anything thereof. They think they know everything, when in fact, they know zippo. Leave the emergency services to the people that work it.

  5. It sure is wrong. So the Coroner should get a raise? He's a County employee. If he gets a pay raise then so should every other County employee. If his yearly salary is the issue, it should have been all been handled prior to 2013.

  7. Every County, regardless of the requirements has a fee for handgun applicants. The fees set by the county are not for taking your fingerprints. You pay the state fee and the county fee for the permit. There's places oher than Portage. Do some checking before complaining. You want a gun permit, just do what is required.

  9. A 500.00 raise ? and they can't afford it. I don't believe it for one minute. 500.00 x the number of employees, is about what, 400,000.00, but yet, over 15mil can be loaned to a cash strapped Lake County? There's an old saying, take care of your own first. People can say what they want about and comment how they're lucky to have jobs, but I know there are a lot of hard workers that deserve even this 500.00 raise. They have families to feed and bills to pay too, just like everyone else. I'm voting for Whitten and Blaney. I say in with the new and out with the old.
