- "Detective Greg Mance suggested the department deal more aggressively with gang and drug activity at the complex." This seems like a good place to start what do you think CHIEF?

- If something isn't done soon the Mansard's might look more like a war field in Afghanistan. So don't broadcast the plan to everyone but do something. Let's start by getting the police officers radios that actually work in the Mansards. These are not new issues that have suddenly become out of control. There have been plenty of shootings, homicides and other crimes committed in this area and still the Chief has no plan or reaction for any of this. Maybe it's time for fresh ideas and leadership in the Chief's office.

- "We have a game plan in place" but are not ready to unveil it yet, Kottka said Thursday. So Chief when are you planning on unveiling this master plan??? After the 5th, 6th, or 7th shooting? Maybe another homicide? What's the big secret and what are you waiting for?

- There is no excuse for anyone's safety to be put danger residents or police officers. Radios not working is unacceptable no matter where an officer is located but in the most dangerous area in town is just plain ridiculous. It seems like the administration has been sitting around doing nothing for far to long. Not only are these issues affecting the officers ability to do there jobs it has to be affecting the morale of the department. How can you possibly feel safe going to work knowing your administration could care less about your safety. They are lucky police officers can't strike. I hope these issues are resolved quickly and that no one in injured in the mean time. Keep fighting!!!! Maybe more residents need to start questioning the administration too.
