  8. Sure, because you were dumb enough to let your kids play baseball in the Railcats' parking lot instead of a park or other area designated for baseball. If there were spectators in the park, that would imply there was a Railcats' game being played. That would also imply that there would be dozens, if not hundreds, of spectators' cars parked in the lot that your kids would likely hit with a baseball as well.

    I've been to minor and major league baseball games all over the country. I've never been to a game where there weren't multiple forms of warnings about foul balls, be it programs, jumbotrons, ticket stubs, soda cups, etc. You can still see videos on the web of people being hit by baseballs because they were yapping, texting, etc. and there's still the opportunity for a hot liner to get you.

    It's severely unfortunate that Ms. DeJesus suffered this injury; however, I'm sure there have been so many lawsuits before hers that were thrown out that, even in Lake County, her chances of winning are slim to none.
