  6. I commend the Gebauer family. All families victimized by drunk drivers need to follow their
    example. Drunk driving in the region is becoming an epidemic where law enforcement is ineffectual and the courts seem to enable drunks with lenient punishment encouraging repeat offences. Paul Gebauer and all other victims and their loved ones need to hold the drunk driver accountable for their murder.

  8. The people of Lake Station have to tolerate double water bills for poor quality drinking water. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth that local government officials take high salaries and fail to provide the most basic of responsibilities which is the management of public utilities including clean drinking water. For too long, Mayor Soderquist and his administration would have Lake Station residents live with water infrastructure equal to that of poor third world countries. Less affluent communities do not deserve this inferior water or administration.
