Metalman: this isn't a closed club or some special private association which these public elected officals work for. "running his yapper to the papers". This comment alone tells me all I need to know about you. And I know that Mr. Biggs couldn't care less than he already does what you and your kind care about him.

Let me see if I read this write; First,. the county council advertises a job opening and five individual applicants apply. Secondly, the county council then takes down the job posting and places a legal notice in the newspapers that they are holding an executive meeting for the purpose of interviewing these five applicants. Thirdly, several days later the council holds this executive meeting and all five applicants are interviewed. They then close the meeting upon interviwing all five for the job and plan to announce their selection at their next regualar scheduled council meeting.

Three days later the council receives an application for this same position which they previously advertised and already held interviews for in a legally advertised executive meeting. Then without the approval of the council board president, or the full board. Four councilmembes on their own, and without full board discussion agree to advertise for an executive meeting to interview this one new applicant. This new applicant just happens to be a friend, and is currently employed with county government in not one, but two diffrent jobs. However, this executive meeting which their friend was to be interviewed was canceled due to bad weather. These four councilmembes then in haste agree to announce that very same night that they will hold this executive meeting the very next day. However, just hours before the meeting is to take place they cancel it. And again without full board discussion they re-advertise the executive meeting hoping that they got it right this time.

Life isn't fair, but this callus indiffrence for fairness is outrageous even if we are talking about a local goverment which employs hundreds of people but believes it has more need for an economic development department than an HR department.

Something needs to be done to lessen the traffic on 30 and I-80/94. This is the most ost effective way of doing just that. Local officals need to work with this to insure it is done right.
