- I find it quite sad that one would argue that Lake Centrals dedicated teacher's do not deserve the consideration for a raise, if not now, at the very least in the near future. Mr. Gustas hit the nail on the head, "it's a slap in the face". Even more of a disappointment, that the administration would fathom the idea of an increase for a few administrators and an almost $7,000 raise for a benefit secretary. The staff has been substantially reduced at a cost, the new high school construction project will result in the need for additional staff in the future. Moral is at an all time low and this act by the administration, and four board members, has only furthered the growing frustration and disrespect felt by the principals, teachers, staff, and families who continue to work hard for our students.

- Words from the judge who sentenced Philpot fits four of the LC Board, the Administration, and benefits secretary: "actions are the result of arrogance, greed and a warped sense of entitlement". You are so right BTownMom, moral is at an all time low, but when you lead and follow with arrogance it becomes all about you and you forget who you are serving, the students, staff and families of the LC school corporation. The school board and administration need only to walk the halls of their schools to feel and see the extremely low moral. The offer and acceptance of the salary increases by the administrators and the benefits secretary should be ashamed to show their faces amongst their students and staff they supposedly serve.

- "Mr. James inherited a mess and straightened it out" if you're going to make a decision to award a "director" an increase does he deserve less of an increase than the "secretary" of the benefits office? Wonder how that makes him feel? Let alone the remainder of the administrative secretarial staff, who do their jobs well, and truly do deserve an increase (along with the secretarial staff and other staff of the buildings) those who know the definition of confidentiality and respect it.

- Isn't it interesting that Janice Malchow is the only board member who knows what she's doing? Board Members, do your homework before you choose to award those who don't deserve an increase. Mr. Ledyard was hired an assistant to his "maintenance office" so the load of taking care of the custodial staff was off his back at a substantial cost. Who out there get a $15,000 raise when the school corporation has been SO concerned with their finances? Mrs. Zymborski doesn't even do unemployment in the office, nor does she handle retirees concerns with discretion or respect to individuals privacy. Employees are "scared" yes, scared to share their benefit questions with her because she deliberately intercepts their care with the insurance company and shares their private information with everyone she comes in contact with! Shame on the board members who don't do their homework. Shame on Larry Veracco for continuing to cover up the unprofessional behaviour of his benefits office!

- Hoffmann, not only do we not hear about these changes from the administrators we hear nothing from the benefits office. There is no communication. Annoyed is just the beginning. You are in need of a form or an answer to an important health question, you leave multiple messages (6 times over a couple of weeks) and she does not return your calls. And I'm not the only one with this ongoing complaint.

- THANK YOU Nancy Gray! It's time we go to the polls and vote for someone who deeply cares for our school corporation, all students, staff, parents, and our future. That someone is Janice Malchow...as a former Lake Central Elementary Principal she will work hard to do away with the threats that hang heavy on the hearts of our students and staff. She will work hard to correct the wrong of the past few years and hold the administration and those they protect accountable. Janice will work hard for our students. She will be the one person who knows the right questions to ask. That's what they're all afraid of, an educated, strong individual who will come in and do the job right and not fall prey to their manipulation, smoke and mirrors. Please vote for Janice Malchow on November 6th, you won't be disappointed!

- I believe the article is about the loss of enrolment? I do understand your concerns for the recent bus purchases but many are correct, the transportation fund is for transportation only and cannot support the many growing needs of the corporation. If student enrolment is down, then the general fund income is also down. When we vote in a few short weeks, keep in mind that the administration and board have not made the most responsible decisions regarding the general fund. A long hard evaluation needs to take place by the school board regarding the allowable wasteful spending by the administration. The administration needs to put our students and staff before themselves, the administration needs to evaluate their negative costs and burden to the general fund.

- Correct again Imightrunforschoolboard! The other administrators are between 5-6% annuities each...plus the 3% that's paid for by the corporation for their TRF. So, multiply that! You are correct, LC has some of the BEST teachers around! and they do care, it's the Good O'l Boys Club that doesn't really care. I'm thinking Fast Ed has lost it here, his children are in college, hmmm? and he's happy with their education, hmmm? Well Fast Ed, that could be because the "former" administrative team were great leaders!
