  1. PS. I'm sure Comer's will still accept any gift cards that want to be donated at anytime!

  2. This Polar Plunge started as a simple idea for Lisa to give something back to Comer Children's Hospital for what they have done for her daughter Katie. It was not intended to be any kind of secret, nor did Lisa expect for the idea to explode with the gift cards like it did. My daughter took part in it because she is one of Katie's closest friends and wanted to do it for her. This was just an idea Katie's aunt came up with that turned out to be more than they could imagine when they found out that people just continued to give gift cards. It was, in no way, meant to be a secret or the like. One thing my daughter said, after coming out of the freezing cold water, was that she will do it again next year for Katie and other children fighting cancer....and she mentioned that she would try to raise her OWN box of cards to give to Lisa for the event. Maybe now that Lisa and her sister-in-law see how this "small" idea exploded, they can make it an event more publicized next year to let others donate. Who would have known??? Lisa had no idea....just give her and the others all the credit in the world for doing this for Comer's!! More than anything, their hearts were in the right place that frigid morning!! And a big thank you goes out to all those that heard by word of mouth or through Lisa's fb page and gave gift cards. Hopefully next year, Lisa can get her "simple idea" out to even more people!!
