- when it comes to an adult addict, there is only so much you can do to help. When you try and try and nothing happens, you give up. You have to move on. Addicts are worthless. I've also noticed some people (thekidsmom) don't quite understand CPS and how it actually works. Its d@mn near impossible to get the kids taken away from their mother. The State of Indiana is quite the gem. Even a teacher has little to no impact on making a complaint and having it followed through. Taking her to court would be a great idea, however, you will need a CPS worker, Crystal and the children into the court room. As well as witness'. If the judge doesn't see something, it does not exist. I've seen my fair share of neglect and so much has been tried to save these kids from their awful "mothers", but good OL Indiana believes a mother is needed no matter what, therefore you need more "evidence" against said mother to even have court or CPS consider your case. Get as upset as you'd like about it, but clearly it's screwed up. Look at how long it took for this.... Dead woman, dead dog, sickly children........ Not to mention, Porter County courts are a bit slow and unorganized. Now if only we could do more about other cases. Meh, let's all head to Central Park and listen to the mayors band instead. ;]
