- to PIEWAY: I see that this person is taking responibility for his actions...although maybe a few years too late...but at least he is saying that what he/she did was wrong. He/She is also stating that there were repercussions to disrespectful behavior, both at school and at home.

- I want to know what 12 year old goes home and tells his/her parent about an incident at school admitting that they disrespected a teacher and immediately the blame is put on the teacher. I am appalled at the amount of entitlement kids have these days. I remember getting in trouble in school and again when I got home. I would never have disrespected a teacher in such a manner. I am the parent of a student at UTMS and UCE, if either one of them come home accusing a teacher of such an incident, involving their disrespect, I wouldn't be so quick to blame the teacher.

- I am the parent of 2 younger boys and I hope when they start carrying their cellphone I won't have to worry about inappropriate behavior, but who am I kidding. The trouble kids can find today is a whole lot different than when I graduated 20 years ago. Our biggest fear was getting caught passing a note but now kids have to worry about the major changes in technology. Peer pressure is different today as well. As much as we want to our kids to remain innocent, that is not going to happen. The best we can hope for is that we have raised our children right and have showed them all the things that are wrong with this world and hope they make the right decisions. It doesn't matter if the kids were on their cellphones or not, this is an issue of indecent behavior and it should be addressed accordingly. I don't feel that an out of school suspension is appropriate because the kids will only look at it as another vacation. When I was in school we had in school suspension and had to do the classwork on our own without help from the teacher. It was a supervised suspension and it was the worst time I ever had while in school.

- It amazes how little some people actually know about what happens in a union. I sit here on a daily basis and listen to you complain. My husband is in the union and he goes to work everyday, in the elements, to pay the bills. We don't live the lavish lifestyle that most people think of union workers. With the union you are put on a list and called for work when your number is ready. When the job he is on ends in February he gets to sit on the list and wait. The wait time right now is 3 years. Mind you my husband is in no way a lazy person and he will get a job doing something, but I am just sick of listening to people complain about something they know nothing about!!!

- Are we forgetting that a little boy was stabbed by a grown man who decided to grab a knife and stab him repeatedly? My thoughts are with him and his family knowing that this has forever changed that little boy. A grown man decided to grab a knife and cause bodily harm. However if that man would never have grabbed the knife the little boy would be sitting in class today. This has nothing to do with outlawing guns, it has to do with making sure that mentally unstabable people are either medicated or put in a facility to help them deal with their issues.
