- Merit selection is a big joke!...it makes it more political for a select few(lawyers) to pick & choose their friends to have a high paying and power position.I believe the people should be able to vote for who will sit and pass judgement on them ,not have it selected for them by a bunch of elitist snobs who believe that they know better than the people on how to vote!.There is politics in everything in life,but you must have the right to vote for good judges and if bad ones are in place then the people should have a say on when they leave.The present system lets these self-professed geniuses sit on the bench as if its a kingdom and we are lowly subjects.As you can see by reading the politically bias Times,these so-called professionals fight like spoiled children for this position.They hide behind a shield of respectability and argue that the' merit ' system is the only good way to select judges!,I say HOGWASH ,if its so good them why are there on only two counties who have this very dangerous system of selecting judges.Just remember that whenever you stripped away the voting rights of the masses,corruption soon sets in!.it happened in Germany when Hitler came to power.

- yes,they are 'worthy' but so is Judge Schiralli who has much more experience on the bench than these friends of Bonaventura..time for change that is long over due! judge Schiralli can bring a new and welcomed breath of fresh air to a very stagnant and elitist attitude that is there now.No offense to these fine magistrates,but they have had more than enough time on the bench and time to move over for fresh ideas on administering help for the citizens of lake county. For the good of lake county,i hope Judge Schiralli prevails.

- non political!,what a laugh,this system that they employ to select judges now makes it more political and takes away from the people to elect a judge and just a handful of politicians(and judges too) to select friends for a lucrative position and dare call it 'MERIT' !Only two couties in the state of indiana select judges this way and it stinks!. If Boneventura wants to head DCS,then do that and leave the selection of the next judge alone,the only reason she cares about who gets the judgeship is because of the power,not the people!

- well michael hutchins,it's good to see a temper tantrum still exist ,even with all your education!I'm sure your dad is very proud of your chest pounding bullying tactic.You can write a book about all the great qualities your father has about furthering education to his players,thank god for your dad,if not for him,no parent would want ot further their childrens education!,what a bunch of hooey!I'm sure your family is the epitome of family life that we should all emulate,what did anyone do without your family's leadership before!...as I said before,time will tell tell if John Hutchins is a good fit or not,then we'll see what your praise will be about another losing season,thanks to JOHN HUTCHINS!!!!....GROW UP MIKEY...

- My,My,My,did some feelings get hurt with a little truth!Mcnastay2008,with all this self professed education you have,what a shame that all this negativity is vented because not everyone see's 'YOUR DAD' as the great soccer program savior! i would think with all this education you would have learned some manners also,as a mother,my children would never spew such venom because of a difference of opinion,all i can say about the new season coming is that time will tell!,I hope he as succesful as you state,but I have seen your DAD in action and sorry sonny-boy,I wasn't impressed!. So go show your dad what a good son you are and maybe he'll buy you a new toy to break!. You have a lot of growing up to do!. I would hope that once you calm down that you will realize that this was not an attack on John Hutchins as a person ,but only as a coach.

- futbol30,i do have a life,sorry it doesn't conform to you mindset,but i do believe that i am entitled to 'my' opinion!...I have seen Mr. Hutchins in action and I stand by my opinion,John Hutchins is a nice man but not a very good soccer coach!...and trainer2660,I don't have any'biter'(i believe the word is 'bitter') emotions about not being selected as coach as i did not apply!,don't questions positions being played or attitude on the field but I can observe that ,yes our kids give their 'all' out in the field and still come out losing the game because of poor leadership!,sorry,it is what it is,Hutchins is not a good fit and as you say give him a chance,I say he's had more than three years and still nothing !,time to look outside the circle of 'brickie' loyalty!....let look for a 'qualified' soccer coach!...

John Hutchins was part of the coaching staff the last three years also! snd they were clueless on coaching soccer,he won one game at wheeler the first two years and because he's from Hobart and graduated from aHobart,he gets the job!.I so feel sorry for the soccer players,parents of these players and anyone who comes out to see Hobart soccer team humiliated by our community neighbors in game competition!,John Hutchins is a nice man,but he is no soccer coach!...way to go Hobart!
