  1. No one wins when it comes to heroin! This young man broke his back at 14 and got hooked on prescription pills, which is the #1 gateway to harder drugs. I'm sure he didn't plan on becoming addicted to heroin. His family didn't bail him out of jail, actually the judge let him out on OR (own recognizance) Why was he released if he was supposedly more than a "little time" heroin dealer??? Reports make it seem like this young man was a kingpin in the heroin trade in LaPorte. How is that possible if he has been incarcerated for the last 9 months? How many overdoses or deaths have occurred in the last 9 months? How many drug/alcohol crimes have been processed with little or no consequences, ie recently a report of a drunk driver that killed 2 friends made the paper and the guy was more or less given a slap on the hand. We call this justice?? Yes people choose to do drugs/alcohol It doesn't matter where they get it cause there is always someone they can get it from. I have sympathy for this kid, Can you think of any affordable facilities a parent can take their under 18 yr old kid for any kind of treatment or rehab that is not at least $25,000 a month,
